i tried using some bandage wraps after cutting yesterday because i was tired of constantly getting the insides of my sleeves dirty with blood, but the bandages were honestly more annoying than just holding a towel on my arms for a while until the bleeding stopped. for starters, i didnt like how tight the wraps felt around my arms. maybe i just did them wrong or something, idk. it was the first time i ever used them. And second, i peeled them off after a day and all the scabs stuck to the wrap and got ripped out, so i ended up having to use a towel anyways.

A genuine question for someone who cuts: how can you get through the hurdle of harming yourself? Although I wanna CTB I could never bring myself to that degree of pain? Why do you do it? Just curious.

Have you tried bandaids? After cutting, you should use a towel to stop the bleeding then make sure you clean your wounds and you can use a bandaid to cover your wounds

For me, I've been cutting since I was 12 and I think I've gotten used to the pain but usually when I cut it does hurt but I wouldn't say it hurts too bad. And it just feels so good like the high can last for days so in the end I think it's worth the pain

depending on how deep you cut, it doesnt hurt all that much. if you just do light cat scratches then it barely even stings. if you go slightly deeper and do styros then it stings a little more but after a while ive started to get used to it, but sometimes im still not able to press hard enough to cut that deep. in my experience ive felt that in the beginning of a cutting session, it will sting the most. but once ive done a couple cuts then all the pain from them causes the feeling to be dulled because its spread out across my whole arm instead of one single cut.

best way i can find to explain it is the scene from baki where yujiro tenses his whole body to withstand the pain from the whip technique. when the pain is spread out, it hurts less.
