Given that it is a solitary endeavor, ASMR may benefit those who would like to feel at least some sense of companionship leading up to or during the final moments.

Some examples (there are many other ASMR channels aside from these):

[edit] these vids are used by a majority of people for relaxation & sleep, so it is fairly common to just listen to the audio (no need to watch, you can just listen and let yourself drift off and zone out)

I feel this would throw me off.
I rather just focus on why it is that I'm killing myself and try to feel sure about my decision.

Die and let die I suppose ;) That's absolutely fine, my friend. Although it may take some rummaging to find the right vid (likely very quiet, sleep/relaxation-oriented for some of those who will be using barbiturates) I know there's some family-less/friendless folks out there for whom it would be a valid virtual stand-in. One other possibly potent use of these types of vids would be to aid inducing a trance state of consciousness. I only have anecdotal evidence of this, but: some who have experienced either aborted or failed attempts, self-reported a very distinct trance state in the preceding moments.

big side note that I forgot to mention: one need not watch the vid; ASMR vids are frequently only listened to/only use the audio
