Sorry mods- last post today, I promise! I know I've posted a lot today. I'm procrastinating from doing the things I should.
I always liked the above clip from Austin Powers. So- do you think you might be the 'diet coke' of something? (Not evil hopefully.)
Sometimes I wonder about social anxiety or misanthropy. I've known people say they hate people but then, they have a partner- they presumably love. They love their family. They spend time with friends. Seemed like they tended to hate the daily commute- understandable, some work colleagues and, the odd unpleasant stranger. I thought they were more like the diet coke of misanthropic when they would say: 'I hate people'. I thought maybe I more genuinely did because I try to avoid everyone. But then, that isn't entirely true either.
I once said here I considered myself an introvert but then- someone (rightly) pointed out- I was posting freely online here. Plus, I do feel comfortable here. It doesn't usually make me nervous to post. (I just figure people can ignore it or me if either are annoying.) But- they were right. Doing a creative job too, I don't think you can really be classified as introverted- you're presenting stuff you've done to be judged. But, I have read posts by people who suffer from extreme anxiety just expressing themselves at all. So, I think I'm the diet coke of introverted!
Possibly the diet coke of socially anxious too. I certainly struggle in some scenarios but I can still function- if akwardly.
I'm probably the diet coke of depression. I'm likely not all together without it but then, it's not debilitating. Plus, the diet coke of eating disorders and limerence. I feel dangerously prone to both but, I can keep them in check.
I'm certainly the diet coke of many subjects. Or even the really cheap unbranded cola for some but, I was thinking- more in terms of afflictions.
How about you? Do you have any traits/ afflictions/ beliefs you would consider mild- or, the diet version?
I suppose that's the other thing- beliefs. I'm honestly only the diet coke of being environmentally conscious. I'm vegetarian, not vegan. I make some better environmental choices but, not all. I'm sadly even a diet coke atheist when I'd prefer to be full sugar, extra caffeine sure. I just don't know though- about God.
