Are you going to say goodbye? to whom? how?

I'm going to privately say goodbye to a few people on here but I'm not going to publicly post about it. In terms of real life, I have no one to say goodbye too apart from my family. I'm not writing any notes, I've already hurt a few people by giving the notes too them early. If someone asks where I am after I'm gone I'm just going to rely on the few who are aware of my passing to tell them.

I have three friends I want to say goodbye to, I am seriously doubtful I will message my family but that may change. If I did it then I would prepare messages for whatsapp on my computer, then copy and paste each message in, and after it has one tick I would then block that person so they can read my message but can't respond, that saves any hurt messages back and getting dragged into any all too cliche conversations trying to stop me.

If you use Gmail, there's apparently a way you can schedule an email to be sent sometime in the future. There are also email delayed-delivery services, but you need to be careful, sometimes they aren't secure. I wrote a thread about Time Cave; I'm now planning to use LetterMeLater.

Thank you TiredHorse. I like whatsapp though as you get the tick to say it has been received, whilst a delayed email you have no guarantee it gets through.

For normal communication email that might not arrive or go to spam etc is ok, but for my very last message I have to be sure it has gone through so I have peace of mind as I go.

I hear you, TheLastTrip. That all makes perfect sense. I don't know WhatsApp --I am a luddite, and don't have a smartphone-- but it sounds like it'll do what you need it to do.

I didn't think I wanted to leave notes but maybe I will leave notes to childhood friends telling them how much I love them and appreciate their friendship.
For family the only notes would be to let my mom know her choice in men always sucked and to let another female family member know I hate her for lying and telling people that I beat her up as a child, ruining my reputation. They wouldn't care anyway, maybe just leave notes for my childhood playmates.

I will not say it outright, but I will subtly tell my soccer team. I'll just tell them that I won't be coming back to the field next year without explaining why and leave it at that.

I will also try to contact my former friend. If she doesn't respond, I'll at least have some peace of mind knowing that I tried to talk, but it would be nice if she got back to me. Just talk to me one last time so I can die in peace…

I'm not going to say goodbye because I don't want anybody to feel guilt from feeling like they could've done something.

I've had the same voicemail on my cell phone for over 10 years now though. I'm going to change it to "Good Bye" right before I ctb.

I'm not going to write anything because the people that I'm close to and will find me (mom) knows I'm suicidal. I talk about it with her and stuff so she knows my reasons. I'm also bad at writing and idk man..I just don't have anything to say. I'm gone and that's it
