I love this method very much, and although I can access more "peaceful" ones, I prefer this one. I don't care about pain, the so-called instinct of self-preservation (humans have no instincts) and so on. I just want to know how effective is one strong stab with a sharp knife into your pulsating carotid artery?

hiiii. I tried slitting my throat and failed miserably, it is very hard for me to beat SI, I don't know so much about statistics, but it's not a much used method, for it being so invasive, I would love to have the guts though, cause it seems so fitting for a person like me, but I digress.

Not super used method, you can find psychology papers on attempts and case studies of few people who succeded. But in theory if you manage to hit the artery, which should be easier trying to slit than pierce, the probability of you dying it pretty high. Although it can vary from people to people, because of blood pressure, amount of blood in the body etc. Also again if you miss it's going to hurt like hell and probably won't kill you or if you only nick it it will bleed significantly less and take waay longer which give you a chance to be saved. I recomend you do some research of your own, google scholar will have stuff

the carotid artery is too deep to just cut it, for example, even when I press with my hand, I do not experience symptoms of pressing on the carotid artery. I also plan to be drunk

Well Idk if being drunk will help with anything. Just be careful, to not do something you will regret. IAnd I don't mean dying. I failed and was locked in a clinic for a week (they wanted to keep me there for a month) and so much has unraveled from that attempt, it all sucks.

so good luck with whatever you decide

I think most people who plan to leave by slitting an artery are massively underestimating how strong your survival instinct is.

I don't mean to sway your decision in any way, but what exactly do you mean by "humans have no instincts"? I thought instincts were something that's unanimously agreed upon, I've never heard an opposing view on that

I'm just genuinely curious about your reasoning. I still respect your opinion of course. Hope you find peace in whatever way you prefer
