You're more likely to just get sick, rack up huge medical bills and maybe some permanent lung damage. Too slow, painful and unreliable.
Not when you live in Europe;). Healthcare is pretty good and cheap in the Netherlands.

I think I would not die if I got coronavirus. Plus it is not that easy to get it. So the idea seems very blurred.

Must be nice. Here in America, the masses fight tooth and nail to keep the bottom 90 percent in a permanent serfdom. Always fighting for the tiny moldy crumbs and greatful when the overlords let us have them. It's amazing how people fight to keep their shackles. Fuck this stupid country. I'm done.

I lived in the US for a year and still go there a few times a year. I've heard some heart breaking stories. Yes the social security and health gets taken advantage of but I rather have that than people not being able to get the help they need. Imo health care is a right, not a privilege.

In America there are no rights or privileges unless you're wealthy or connected. We have people dying because they can't raise enough money crowdfunding to afford insulin. Crowdfunding is our major societal safety net. Our employers decide if we get healthcare, and what kind. The majority of workers are "at will" meaning they can be fired for no reason with no notice. No job= no healthcare. But people still deluded themselves into thinking this gives them some sort of choice. Healthcare debt is the #1 reason for bankruptcy. But whatever, people would rather parrot empty political party talking points than save themselves and their fellow citizens.

Is it true that despite having health care insurance, people often still have to pay a lot for meds?

I wouldn't mind if I actually died, like caught it and went unconscious and slipped away but I don't think it works like that. It would be less stressful for my family though to think I died from an infection rather than deliberately taking my own life, but if I catch it I don't think it will kill me as I'm not that old and don't have any physical frailties

Yes it's very unlikely to die from Corona when you're healthy.
I agree with what you're saying about it being less stressful for your family that you died of an infection instead of taking you're own life. It would be a lot less painful for my family and friends as well.

yes. People on fixed incomes often have to decide if they want to pay for food, medication or other bills. I've had good insurance in the past, had a prescription, go to the pharmacy and have a bill for a lot of money because insurance only covered part of the price.

I know this may souns morbid, but I've been wanting out of this hell place since I was a child for many reasons and the reasons keep on growing as I get older. I wanted to get nembutal but it seems hard to get with all the scammers, raids, and the high prices.
I feel bad for the people that lost their lives not just due to the Coronavirus but to wars, famine, and many other factors. Just gives more reasons to get off such a hostile planet. I know I may sound selfish but I've tried to tough things out for many years and tried different methods as to get over depression and anxiety. With all this trying it seems I might have a few descent days but the horror comes and has me in its grip and won't let go. I've come to the conclusion a long time ago that I didn't belong here even though I try to tell myself otherwise. Coworkers, classmates, and family members have all confirmed to me what I already have been feeling that I different from others. The only difference I can come up with is having a strong empathy for others and consciousness.
Well, any hooo....with all that said every year it seems that cold and flu season comes and certain syraind seem to be deadly to some. I kind of see this as an opportunity to get out here. I live in the U.S. and it hasn't really got spread out like some places has it. I'm not wishing death on anyone but myself. Like I said I know this sounds strange and I don't like seeing people in pain but I would like to get out here as peaceful as possible.

No, with my luck I will just end up a carrier and wipe out my family, it does seem it's the old people with underlying health problems who need protecting.

That is terrible. People who are suffering have to suffer even more because of financial issues. In the military I had no medical bills at all but now I pay 130 euros a month and everything is covered. When you use medical care there is a fee of 385 euros a year and because of my meds and therapy I pay that full amount. I'm unemployed now so the government pays me 80 euros a month to help pay for insurance. So in total it's never more than around 85 euros a month I pay.

We pay a lot of tax but even before I used the health care system a lot, I didn't mind paying because as I said before, health care should be a right. If we all chip in, it helps a lot of people.

How are the masses only 10% ?
Crowdfunding is our major societal safety net.
That, and credit cards.
Is it true that despite having health care insurance, people often still have to pay a lot for meds?
I have:
  • Medicare A (free) and B (~100USD monthly), which are the main package.
From there, a person can enroll in:
  • C (private sector insurance and honestly a scam)
  • D (drugs, ~20 USD monthly for me).
To your question: drugs have been pretty cheap, but sometimes I still use goodrx.com and come out of pocket to save money.

Who votes (and votes by being apathetic) ? Who puts the politicians into power who decide how the billions in public funds get distributed? Why do we never question how to pay for war or corporate welfare, but people will fight to the death (from both parties) to prevent healthcare for all? Why do we (the 90 percent) decade after decade submit, pay our taxes and comply with the status quo? That's the 90 percent. The upper 10 percent just buy politicians, vote to keep their taxes low, convince the rest of us to play couture wars, pay employees as little as possible and enjoy. I didn't think this was a big secret.

I see other countries that shut everything down when their government over-reaches. It makes my soul sing. Here in America we could shut it all down if there was the will. But there isn't.

I'm currently in quarantine now cuz my husband was exposed at his hospital by a Corona patient who they treated. just found out yest that's shes 90% chance of positive..no test results until this wk..

I can tell u that my husband started showing symptoms mostly last night n he's miserable. He had to still work today cuz he figured he's in the hospital, n if anything, he's right there for aid. Esp since he has asthma..we went outside today to walk the dogs, no contact with anyone, n he barely had enough energy to even do that.plus he can barely breathe (asthma pump not helping). it's not a nice feeling..the young woman (40 y.o) in hosp who spread it is suffering..long, painful, drawn out way to go..

I've had double pneumonia n I'm sure, of course, it's a worse feeling..that was the most scariest thing ever..literally feeling like a fish out of water..gasping for air..no bueno...

Sounds awful, I hope your husband gets better. That's go to be hard on you seeing a loved one suffering like that....hopefully the women gets well soon also.

Unfortunately, I feel it will get worse before it gets better.

I understand there's other ways to leave this place that maybe more peaceful and quick. Some of us don't have the resources available to us.

For myself, but I think also for quite a few other people, the very act of suicide is not all about dying but maybe more about deciding how and when you go. When you kill yourself, you gain the freedom and control you might have lacked during your time alive. There's a real performative act around the whole thing - waiting to catch a deadly disease, I think, is quite different than killing yourself.

But maybe that's just me.
I think you're right, even though I wouldn't give aa shit if I bought that damn virus, my dream is to ctb so I can affirm my voluntary action, say it's my life, my death, fuck you fate ! Which is why my ctb date is becoming more and more urgent, since I'm suffering from an incurable chronic disease which could eventually kill me but I just do not want to sit around like an idiot waiting for it to happen or not....
