same here. seeing love/couples in movies, music, advertisements, going outside for a walk, or even hanging out with friends who have partners always triggers me now.

ehh, i dont think its an advantage in any way. people can build a special connection like that without being virgins. also what if you dont desire a lifelong special marriage or family, & you just want intimacy & pleasure? then it is only negative to be sexless.

I'm in the same boat. I often get responses like, "What, you're a virgin? But you're so tall! Women should be throwing themselves at you!" and all that from people when they find out that I am one. It doesn't help my already poor mental state. Makes me feel that I've 'missed out' or something or that I feel inadequate for still being one at my age and at my height. Never been good with women. Being Autistic and very very shy doesn't help.

Not necessarily being a virgin in itself, but the constant mocking I've gotten from it. If it really wasn't so important then I wouldn't have been mocked for it. I don't even say anything either people will just look at me and know which makes it even worse. It's also more the fact that I would give anything to be desired or chosen. I want to be able to have someone trust me and me trust them to the point of intimacy. I also had a very bad experience when I was a child which probably isn't helping this out much. I don't want to feel resentment towards people who have been in relationships but I can't help it. I want to get better about it because this resentment is what is keeping me down the most.

Honestly I think being a virgin isn't that big of a deal and is more of a flex than not being one. Saving yourself for the right person is a lot more respectable anyway.

bc i have Vaginismus, i never could have good sex with anyone evn if i try . i'm learning to accept im not going to experience intimacy in that way. i dont think being a virgin is bad as society makes it out to be. i dont think you miss out, but society sure make u feel like you do.

sadly, yes there is so much mockery for virgins. ppl want a virgin bc it seems pure like a status symbol. not for the real experience of having sex with someone inexperienced.

i hated being seen as a virgin and i wish i had as much fun with others as movies and such portray. i realize it's pure fiction. i'm starting to care less after being disappointed so much.

But if it's about a relationship, I understand that doesn't ease the thoughts you might have as a result of never being chosen by someone else. I am so incredibly lucky that when I was young this girl pursued me and I ended up having a 1.5 year relationship with her. That experience gave me a lot of confidence, even though it was my only relationship and it has been many years since I've been in one. The memories of someone desiring me still remain, and make me feel as if I can be attractive to people.

Not even virtue signaling but I love seeing happy couples. I'm happy that they're happy but also sometimes there's a melancholy bittersweetness that accompanies that feeling. Not a virgin but I do suspect I might be alone for the rest of my life so spiritually I feel some kinship with virgins tbh.
