I don't mean that you've previously been to protests, or fought for reform.
I mean the kind of leftism that takes over your entire life for a decade. The anarchist one where any state at all is completely rejected. It's a world view that says the west specifically is so removed from any collective, communal thinking that anyone subjected to western societies are rendered alienated and individualised.
Anyway, that type of world-view. Anyone here been practising, for at least 5 years in a committed way, and realised its a scam?
It's been so brutal to lose my social world, while actually retaining my world-view. I can't really accept a lot of what non-radical leftism expects us to, but at the same time?
I'm alive. I'm watching. The west is now being won over by tech oligarchs. Hate em all, shout out to palantir specifically for ruining the reputation of gay, autistic men.
But meanwhile, I see the last 12 years of my life that I've invested into unpaid labour against this nightmare to have been essentially a stand-in distraction for the true situation- there's no escaping.
We are stuck here.
Not looking for leftists (especially younger ones) to give me the party lines that are meant to be convince me our struggles are worth it - alll due respect, I know them all.
Who's here that knows what I'm saying? Who is here that knows what it's like to have a crisis of serious leftist faith?
The loneliness is hectic. Please hit me up if you at all see yourself in this. Losing your whole identity, meaning and purpose is a brutal blow when your world-view remains one that rejects the current social set up.
Especially when your default is wanting to CTB, even before exiting the - dare I say - cult of revolution.
