I am LOL. The fact that the child is to be born without their consent is the biggest fact that make me anti-natalist. Like I was at peace somewhere, existed in a kind of form, then 2 random strangers decided to have sex cause they want to have a cute little baby and BOOM. I was brought into this fuck up life. Under capitalism, procreation is purely to provide a labour force and nothing more.

And the parents don't even consider that this cute little baby gonna grow up someday and gonna become its own person with all the baggages. No, all they see is a docile pet-like baby that function more as a decoration for their selfish needs.

Bringing a child to this world is really so fuck up and selfish. It's aint divine and god's gift and none of that bullshit. It's a responsibility and a result of having unprotected sex. I think more people should have adopted if they want to build a traditional family instead.

Wonder if anyone feels the same way?

I feel like this dude waking up everyday. I'm also child-free cause I know I'm too fuck up to raise another human being and give them a good life, so not even adoption for me.

I despise the parents that don't take any accountability. Maybe they are abusive and batshit crazy, and are in poverty, or having health issues, but still decide to birth children and tell them that this is a shitty life that their children deserve, and they should be grateful for it. No, fuck all that

Yeah. I totally agree. People have kids just to fill their own lives. Look at how many of them even want their kids to follow in their footsteps in their careers or hobbies, etc. It really sucks.

Humanity is an invasive pest that knows no bounds because we have taken over the planet.

Antinatalist here, I see childbirth as an immoral act. It is a literal net negative to bring a new life into this world, not to mention, a complete gamble. It's unfair to gamble on another person's life like that and you have no idea how that child will turn out.

I especially hate how people treat having a baby like it's no big deal, or it's just some cutesy little play thing to go "aww" at. I had an ex-girlfriend who was like that and quite literally told me she only wanted a baby because they're "cute". I dumped her (I had several reasons for dumping her but this was one of them).

Right now I'm married and I have no intention of ever having kids. The best thing I can do is to never bring new life into this Hell Realm.

I have reiterated my anti-natalist stance many times on this forum and I hope my posts and comments illicit strong feelings of guilt for any failed parents here reading them. Although I hope your children are able to salvage their lives and be as happy as possible, I also hope that it eats you up inside immensely if they don't. You deserve to feel horrible for your stupid gamble.

Yes. Isn't it strange that there is no parenting test done on future parents? They say that it's because reproduction is a fundamental human right, and every human has bodily autonomy. But what about the baby? The baby has no autonomy.

And to be honest, life just sucks. Especially now, the world is becoming a real dystopia (I could even say that it already is).

People never have kids for selfless reasons, at least from what I've seen.

I think its fucked up due to the fact that suffering and death is the only certainty in this world. Not to mention being brought into this reality means you could burn in hell for all of eternity. The more vessels that are born, the more our sinful cycle continues.

yes, and i think the only way childbirth could ever become anything "close to moral" is if we allow people to leave this world we were dragged into, i think the biggest shame in the history of the world was human brains evolving to be as complex as they are, we have used this to do such evils, and we have such capacity to suffer in so many ways, i am so surprised that people can live in this world for 30 years and think "im going to bring someone else into this!" its a horrible place, non existence is superior

i always see people respond to anti natalists by saying "but humans would die out!!" oh no, not the species which has destroyed the habitats of countless of animals just for the sake of having more money, thats such a tragedy, that would be such a loss to the world, people are cruel, the way we treat animals is horrible, the way we treat eachother is horrible, whenever people talk about the "good of humanity" they only ever bring things up which positively impact other humans

i dont see why anybody would voluntarily bring children into this world, i think its irrational, but in a bad way, you are creating a being with capacity to suffer, and the worst part of all this is, you are doing it after you yourself have suffered, youre an adult, you can see all the evils of this world, yet you still choose to bring more life into it

While not straight-up anti-natalist, (the whole thing about babies not having a consciousness is silly in my opinion since, yeah, of course they don't, that applies to to any living being ever and, by that logic, if it was in the law everywhere to stop procreating for that reason, gblobally, would lead to the extinction of the human race as whole) I do feel like having babies in this day and age, really isn't a bright idea considering what became of the world (capitalism ruining everything, global warming, political climate etc) and there's also the cost of living...both for parents with a kid and the kid who'll grow up

I'm not quite anti-natalist but I do think the vast majority of people are not fit to be parents. Bringing a life into the world is the single biggest responsibility anyone can ever take on, in my opinion, and it feels like hardly anyone truly realizes the depth and severity of that undertaking. Especially in our current society where everyone is so insanely individualist and being crushed by capitalism so heavily that they simply cannot have the time, energy, resources, or community needed to raise a child well, it's just irresponsible.

And I didn't even get a chance to choose my own name. My parents gave me an embarrassing and humiliating middle name (in my third-world country and culture that middle name signals a woman's roles is to stay married and perform household chores and be birthing machine. Also people use that name to satire and criticize women in general). Couldn't even change that shit without jumping through legal hoops. Didn't grow up with my own bedroom and decent shoes. And they dare to bring me into this world when themselves were older and aging. The fuck am I suppose to do when they leave this world and I'm all alone and can't fence for myself.

Yes, absolutely! And it's a very strange experience to be a woman in my late 30s, with those I've grown up with still popping out babies when the world is literally on fire and they are complaining about the cost of everything. Someone older than me asked "but who will fund your pension?" What kind of messed up reason is that? Putting aside the fact that it's adorable that they think that I'll survive to pension age (even taking my intention to ctb out of it), why would I give birth (putting my body through a horrific experience, when I'm already disabled) and have to look after and raise something in this dystopian nightmare, and then expect the kid to go and work in a world where there are less and less jobs, and nobody enjoys work anymore (let alone in 18 years) because it's all about profit for the 1% - working for meaning/purpose is so so rare now.

The whole thing is fucked. I don't get it at all.

Very much an antinatalist. 43 and stayed well away from women (no relationships ever) pretty much for this reason. No offence meant to females on this forum.

It's just wrong on so many fronts. What stuns me in real life is the people I grew up with who have had kids. They can't even look after themselves.

I have heard people say "everybody is having kids' so they have them. But as you said it's the biggest responsibility one can take on. The biggest decision ever yet people don't think properly or can't. Even when I have purchased second hand cars I have had to be very careful.

I wouldn't be so antinatalist if there was a much more accessible way to CTB. I mean if im here without my consent I should be able to make the choice to die, right? unfortunately thats not the way things work on this planet

When I got a pet for the first time, I realized the responsibility involved in providing the best possible quality of life for a living being; this made me reconsider how much harder it is to offer that to a human being in the world we live in. Consequently, it seems irresponsible to have children knowing there is a high probability they will face a complicated life—especially when factoring in poor genetics or the awareness that one cannot provide the best for them (including the right environment).

Bredder is the worst insult I can think off. Bringing a child into this would seems the most vile, evil, fucked up thing any person can do. If you truly care and want a kid, there are plenty without homes you could take in without making more.

I totally agree with all this although I wouldn't say I'm an antinatalist. More like an anti human. I think fundamentally people shouldn't exist. I'd love to write more about this but not on this thread.

My mom really only had me because she wanted a friend. An emotional support animal is how I've always pictured it.

I also toy with this idea sometimes. Would I be so antinatilist if we were given the free choice to be able to leave this life peacefully- if we so wished? But then- at what age would we allow this?

Wouldn't we still be concerned that a minor doesn't have the capacity to make this decision? Which means- if they need to wait till 18 and their lives were shit- that's 18 years of shit they had to get through.

I also think- it isn't as simple as just giving people the right to die. There's the emotional side to it too. Many people feel emotionally trapped here because they don't want to inflict emotional distress on their parents/ families/ loved ones.

I'm not so convinced- even if suicide was permitted- that that would go away. How could we stop a parent grieving their dead child? How could we stop the suicidal person from worrying about the people they leave behind?

I'm antinatilist- both from the point of view of the child- bringing them here is exposing them to so much risk. Some dangers, they can't be protected from- so much comes down to chance. Plus- some very painful experiences are absolutely unavoidable- even if they have a good life otherwise. It's not even because I'm a pessimist. It's simply the objective degree of risk and lack of resources to protect them- that makes me feel like bringing a child here is morally questionable.

I'm also antinatilist from the point of view of all the other millions of species of living, sentient creatures we share this planet with. We all know we are the most destructive being on this planet. Even someone who is extremely mindful will be consuming resources and polluting and killing other living creatures right, left and centre.

Why bring another being here that will likely contribute to killing thousands upon thousands of other creatures? Google has come up with the average meat eating person as being responsible for 7,000 animal deaths over their lifetime. If you add the damage we do in terms of destroying their habitat to that- I dread to think how many living creatures we all snuff out in our lifetimes.

Also- just from a personal perspective- I don't have the genes to reproduce some revolutionary scientist who could potentially reverse climate change or solve the waste plastic problem. I also feel like both my genes and the upbringing I would likely give my child wouldn't prepare them well enough to survive in this world. Not happily anyway. Plus- it would break my heart to witness them experience even 1% of the sadness and worry I've had. I feel like I love my unborn child/ children too much to bring them into all this potential danger.

They brought us into this dangerous hell without our consent.

Then they purposefully made Nembutal assisting suicide and sarco suicide pod , opiods etc crimes.

Even if they hadn't made those crimes it's stiil much better never to be born . Because all the suffering one has to go through until u would take the nembutal . Every human lives under constant threat of extreme torture. even with assisting suicide nembutal etc something could go wrong as u are depending on other evil humans to act perfectly to assist u and the means or your actions have to be error free.

I feel similarly but my bias is that a huge trigger of my c-ptsd is seeing men become fathers because it reminds me of being abandoned by them and also of the fact that i deeply feel inferior to other women because ill never be able to have kids.
