After I tried unsuccessfully I had a tatt, my only one, out on that I drew. I converted serotonin into a semicolon by sketching it and twisting the tail with the anime (NH2) group down to become the tail on the comma and shading the centers of each ring. It was a symbol of hope I held onto as the "life didn't end with a period" club and it's still there. But lately I see it as a failure more than a symbol of hope.

Curious if anyone else has a suicide tatt either for themselves or someone they knew.

I have a few, even though I've been feeling much better these days.

I have a tattoo that says "Sisyphus" on the side of my hand. It comes from Albert Camus' essay "The Myth of Sisyphus", where he asks upon the realization that life is meaningless, should we kill ourselves? Bottom line, he argues no, because like Sisyphus, we continue to push the boulder up the hill despite never getting there, and while its absurd that life is devoid of meaning, we still search for meaning.

I got it when I first became a Philosophy major, thought it was quirky, little did I know a year later I'd attempt to ctb multiple times. It's a stupid tattoo, I regret it (its in cursive and looks like it says syphilis) and I hate Camus as a philosopher, but it is kind of funny because I clearly have been failing at adhering to this kind of philosophy lmfao.

I have a tattoo in the palm of my hand. I won't describe the detail, but at the time a huge part me felt like I'd ctb even though I wanted to hold off. Like my emotions would push me to act more impulsive.
Anyway, with the common idea that palm tattoos don't last long and fall out. I got one with the thinking that I just had make it until it disappears.
Rather than ask around for artists to see if they tattoo palms I found a guy that did a lot, and got the tattoo only a few days after thinking about it because he had cancelation and an opening.

I don't think I ever told anyone why I really got it. I'll usually just say I wanted to see how painful it'd be. And when they ask what it means, I tell them visuals come to me before words and that I'm still learning. But if they try to guess, I'll just let them run with it.
