Btw do you know any korean/japanese suicide websites like this one?
Our countries are well known for a high suicide rate so I believe there must be some websites like that out there

I'm not EA but I have interacted with a lot of menhera places in Japan. They usually use discord servers or twitter for ODing with each other on calls. As for forums? Idk.

I'm a white American, but I have a question. Is suicide socially acceptable in east Asia? At least compared to the West.

From time to time, I've encountered Korea news about a suicide pact. I don't actively follow Korea news so I suspect there are way more suicide pacts going on in Korea and many of them are not reported by Korean media. According to the news, 3-5 individuals from online meet and die together in a car or a rental home. It seems like carbon monoxide poisoning by ๋ฒˆ๊ฐœํƒ„(Korean charcoal) burning is the most common method of group suicide in Korea. I also always wonder where I could find the online forum or SNS group Koreans use for a suicide pact

Hello, Minsu.

I am from Japan. As far as I have seen, custom sites like people's fc2 blogs with open comments have attracted a few likeminded people before being shut down or moving domains. LINE groups that usually hide the blatant language about CTB have also come to existence, however they are small and usually someone is a bad actor or derails the group. Nothing ever remains, and nothing stays. I'm sorry I have nothing definitive.

Take care

Nice to meet some fellow Koreans, despite the unfortunate circumstances. I can't really help with the community in Korea since I don't really visit Korean forums :(

But I would love to talk to some Koreans (or east asians in general) about this kind of stuff. Please pm me if anyone wants to talk.

No, at least here in China. But decades before suicide (for faith) was somewhat honored in Japanese culture, as far as I know.

There are telegram groups of Chinese suicidal people, but I found them toxic so I won't join.
It's weird even though China bans a large bulk of foreign websites, this website can be directly accessed.
I hope this site does not get attention from the Chinese government.

It will unfortunately I guess because this is the largest suicide website in the West :/

Hello @Minsu,

I'm from Japan, and I've never found a Japanese website like SaSu - I found a message board which discusses about suicide methods 10 years ago, and it's still there, but its atmosphere is hostile I guess.
Sorry, I don't know much about the internet in Japan, because I browse the internet in English most of the time.
(My mother tongue is Japanese but I developed fear of the language itself, after two decades of verbal abuse from countless people in my life.)

SaSu is really amazing - people here gave me a chance to express myself without being judged. People here seem to have "compassion on steroids."

Oh I'm so sorry you developed fear of your mother tongue, but I absolutely get it! ๐Ÿค—

Could you share the link to the message board you're talking about? I'm just curious.

Yeah, same here! Although I experienced once that ppl here judged me, but otherwise this site is a sanctuary for me.

Take care ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท

I'm chronically suicidal because I experience extreme low from time to time. It's simply unbearable and I never want to go through a depressive episode again. When I feel low, I think I'll lose a job, go homeless and die on the street, and I have to CTB to avoid this scenario.
Currently I'm struggling at work, which fuels this thought.

Now I'm 36 and I've been suicidal since 8. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder in 2014, depression in 2016 and then bipolar II (current diagnosis) in 2018.

Recently I started to exercise regularly at the gym and eat healthily, and this is my first major attempt to get better.
I don't think my suicidal thoughts goes away, but if I could keep them at bay, it would be my victory.

If you're comfortable with, please tell me why you want to CTB. I'm so sorry that you're struggling.
I wish you the best ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

I feel sorry for you, if you ever feel need to talk or something, just text me and we can back up each other.

You're doing so well with exercising, it should release endorphins which work like a natural anti depressant.

My story is different.. I've been suffering from crippling social anxiety all my life. So I started taking anti anxiety meds a couple of years ago and now I'm completely dependent on them ๐Ÿ˜” they work only to some extent now and they've destroyed my sleep so I go to bed at 4 am and wake up at 8 am so 4 times of sleep at best.. this is ruining my life so terribly.
Ctb is just a matter of time in my case tbh.

Have a nice day and take care ๐Ÿฅฐ

Korean American here. I saw some communities on Naver Cafe long time ago. I think it was mostly for venting and looking for ctb partners and there weren't much discussion about methods. Not sure if those are around anymore.

Thanks, and I actually feel good after I jogged 2 - 3 km (1.2 - 1.9 miles.)
I didn't know that first-hand, because I couldn't jog more than a mile, but now my endurance improved a lot and finally started to feel good.
I hope it helps me endure trials life throws at me.

I'm so sorry to hear that... I used to have severe anxiety since childhood, and had been on benzos for 6 years, but I successfully kicked them in 2020.
I think I was just lucky; I got a less stressful job than before, and could start to recover, and I didn't have severe withdrawal symptoms when I tapered off them.

Have a nice day ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
