I have had seizures for going on about 3-4 years now. No changes in meds or diet or lifestyle have really made much of an impact on the seizures themselves. Unfortunately, the only impact I've noticed so far is my anticonvulsants poorly effecting my mental health.

Just wondering if anyone else here experiences epilepsy and if anyone else has gone through the surreal feeling of recovering from days worth of seizure clusters…

A lot of my seizure auras (most call auras warnings but truthfully, they're their own type of seizure) feel like Deja vu and forgotten memories. The recovery from a big seizure or a cluster of them feels similar but the best way I can think of to describe it is that it almost feels like I did die during my seizure and everything since then has been a "dream". Trying to regain my footing during those times really hampers down on my depression and makes me feel like it's just another sign I don't belong here.

Anyone else able to relate?

I honestly can't tell if my seizures are caused by my alcoholism in the past or my prior DV head trauma. It's hard to tell if we are meant to be here or meant to go

Had two grand mal seizures in my sleep in Summer of '24. I've also had simple partial seizures for 20 years after a head injury/assault.

The nocturnal seizures made me get in touch with a neurologist, who ordered tests and put me onto Epival. The meds have stopped both types of seizures.

October '24 was my last simple partial seizure; I used to get them anywhere from a few per day to once a month, it was all over the place. It feels so surreal to not have them anymore, but I'm so fucking grateful. They were Hell, the main feeling of them was this Hellish, doom-laden anxiety. They never lasted more than a minute or two, but would ruin my day or even week. Exhausting, I was always on edge waiting for the next one. Previous treatments when I was younger never helped them, so I just gave up on ever getting rid of them. Pure chance the same med knocked out both types of my seizures.

Had fever seizure when i was 3/4 now don't think will ever go, left temporal sclerosis. Lots i feel like I'm living in a dream (or I'd lived that exact moment before) or drunk. Destroys your short term memory, wish i had been laying on my back and not side when threw up. It's happened 2 or 3 times too. Hate that there was someone to airlift me.
