I am someone who is CTBing soon and doesn't have a lot of money or motivation to move. I was curious if anyone has been to any one of these countries or lives there. I have always loved nature and wanted to travel to these places :)

I would love to hear your experiences!

Nearest I have been to the countries you mentioned is Austria. There are some amazing forests and mountains too, similar like the ones in Switzerland.

I'm planning to go to Japan soon. However, I want to time it so that my friend that I plan to go with is also free at the time. That seems to be difficult.

I can afford to go, but I don't really have much motivation. And also there are some other people here who are very well traveled and still extremely unhappy and suicidal, so I'm not sure how much this is going to really help us in the long run. It's just short term pleasure in the end.

I'm not sure if I qualify as "very well traveled," but I've been around a fair amount, including living in Japan for a while. While you're right, it doesn't magically make everything better, I still unequivocally encourage you to do it if you're able. I regret so much in life, but getting out and seeing different places is one thing I don't regret in the slightest. If you're hesitant to travel, I guess I would say: why not? It's not going to make things worse. The adventures I've had around the world are some of the few islands of relief I've had in this sea of misery.

i loved Japan, it was a beautiful, unique experience. i really loved the outdoors, the stillness, their alleys the aesthetics of the small towns i rented a car and drove between lakes, small towns some were abandoned out there that was my best time and highlight out there
if you are like me and you get overwhelmed by large crowds and packed places, be wary of the big cities
like Tokyo Osaka and Kyoto as the famous monuments and streets there are full of noise and tourists, and brothals and a lot of stuff that i dont find appealing, so id rathered go out at the cities at late night, or early morning usually when it's less busy.

Switzerland. I studied for a semester in Basel, went to like 20 different Swiss cities with the student discount pass on those insanely expensive trains, skied on one day next to the Matterhorn in Zermatt, went to the beautiful Lauterbrunnen, took a cool but short train up a mountain with some unreal scenic views (maybe it was to Wengen), and lastly got a photo with my idol Roger Federer. It is one beautiful place. Also, it's so close to other European countries and flights are super cheap so I went all around Europe. Switzerland is very expensive, but the nature is out of this world.
