Just wondering. Because even though i'm technically finishing my undergrad this december, i'm not motivated to work and ig im going to end up a NEET. already live that life (i binge watch movies the whole day and do next to zero productive stuff). do you guys also wonder what will happen after your parents pass? because it's something i think about often- since i don't feel close to anyone.
and i'd like to ctb but my si keeps getting in the way.

I'll be passing before my parents, so I don't think about that.

But Im waiting 1 year after I graduate, to fully decide if I will CTB. To see if life gets better. So I will maybe CTB in the summer of 2028.

But I'm 99% sure that Im going to do it.

But it'll be nice to have 1 year where I can plan everything and then also do some things I've wanted to do, such as play some video games.

I've saved up around 7K. I don't really have anything to buy but in my final year I can just buy all the food I want and games and movies.

I'll probably have a lot of money left over because I can't even really do much other then bed rot but maybe that's because of the stress of school.

There's still a 1% chance I don't CTB… if life after university just magically gets better for me. But extremely unlikely as I'm neurodivergent.

Currently you could call me a NEET, too. Last time I worked was in autumn last year, after that I took time off to travel and now I am back in my home country due to health problems, but I think, if I can somehow get them fixed, I will travel again. I can't be bothered to work unless I have to, so as long as I still have savings (or can get unemployment benefits) I don't see the necessity to work. Honestly with the government always upping taxes and other fees you have to pay for most of which I will never get anything in return I feel I have to use the system as best as I possibly can. The laws in the country I live in are designed for the wealthiest 5 or 10 per cent of the population to live really well, be able to avoid taxation and the rest of the population is mostly forced to work for these top 5 or top 10 per cent. Although a majority of the older people (like the ones who are already older than 60 or 65) still are not doing too bad, because when they were young it was still possible to reach a modest amount of wealth through work (like owning your own appartment or a small house and have some savings).
My father is dead and I haven't been in contact with my mother in years, so it won't affect me when she dies.

Official NEET as per my recent graduation, my family wants to force me to either get a job or go to uni. I tricked them into thinking I'd go to uni but I can't see myself passing anything considering I hardly made it here. Considering my parents are the source of all my evil and do all but support me I couldn't care less about their passing. My fate was demise and it'll come much sooner than their expiration date. I wish I had been "blessed" with support, the one I never received, the one that put me here to begin with.

Self-proclaimed, proud NEET here. Actually, I consider myself a "liquidator," which in my own definition, a NEET with a ticking time-bomb (or someone with active CTB plan, a "liquidating" NEET).

already live that life (i binge watch movies the whole day and do next to zero productive stuff).
Same here. I consider myself "retired," so my life consists of simply enjoying myself and not working at all <3

Just as my user name states, I'm not a NEET but I am a Hikikomori. A shut in that doesn't do anything outside of work.

I live with my mum, she's very resigned and overall sad. She had big ambitions for both me and my brother and we both ended up like that sort of.
Hugs to you too^^

I am currently NEET looking for work. It's not my first stint and it has never been something of choice for me. AuHD makes keeping ill-equipped jobs excruciating.
I've sought assistance from services like vocational rehabilitation but they're an absolute joke for most neurodivergents.
Just use the least sycophantic AI you can find for vocational guidance and assistance.

Well i won't get thrown out.. coz I live on my own hehe. No need to worry about that.

As for how they feel about it...well listen I never chose this life, so I have no shame about it really. But they do. Can't help that.

I was a NEET from age 22 to 34. I have Schizotypal Disorder, which leaves me with severe negative symptoms: anhedonia, avolition, apathy, and emotional blunting.

After high school, I tried studying Computer Science. I dropped out after 6 months due to severe depression. I then tried several jobs, but never lasted more than a week due to constant workplace mobbing. Two years later, I gave CS another try. Despite getting top grades in math and programming, the mobbing and my mental state forced me to drop out again.

That started a continuous 12-year NEET period. For 5 of those years, I made pennies writing scripts and coding. Feeling like a parasite, I was fully supported by my family. I started seeing a psychiatrist 7 years ago, but I kept stopping my treatment.

12 months ago, while on medication, I finally broke the NEET cycle and got a minimum-wage job. My goal was dark: save 10,000 PLN for my own funeral so I wouldn't burden my family, and then end my life. So far, I've managed to pay my mom back 15,000 PLN, and I currently have 2,000 saved for my goal.

After quitting my meds a few months into the job, my anxiety became extreme. I restarted treatment 4 months ago (Olanzapine + Pregabalin). The meds don't help my core issues and make me feel like a total zombie—empty head, poor memory, no thoughts. Still, I've accepted that I need to stay on medication for the rest of my life.

Hello friend. Olanzapine is the reason I'm on this forums. I was on it for half a year, then quit and I couldn't sleep at all. It's now months later and I still can't sleep without olanzapine. I have to take it ever few days or I can't sleep, and even then I constantly wake up. I'm lucky to sleep three hours on most days. It's fucking shit. My life is in the hands of this unreliable medication. Please be careful.
See here the reviews for olanzapine https://www.drugs.com/comments/olanzapine/for-insomnia.html. these ppl aren't lying this is exactly what happened to me as well.

i'm also a NEET. i have been for nearly 6 years now. it's a miserable way to live, at least for me, but it's also very hard to claw your way out of. mine is due to debilitating OCD. i really do want to try to escape this lifestyle.
many people who've never experienced it assume it's great, that we do nothing but relax all day. but the truth is, you don't enjoy life much at all because you feel so worthless and like a burden to your loved ones. and said loved ones will often let you know that you are.
it's such a lonely way to spend your life. everybody "normal" doesn't understand and will judge you, and everyone who does understand is also isolated and thus hard to meet and interact with. most of us have a social skills deficit, or at least i know i do.
there's so much pressure on you to just "be normal", but you can't. the longer you've been out of society, the harder it is to reintegrate. i'm still trying to get there someday.

Binge watching movies IS productive stuff! Go on Letterbox'd and rate the movies you watched 1/5 stars. People need to know whether or not a movie is good before they waste 2 hours watching it because time is valuable.

How valuable your time is is up to you, but if you want to "waste" it watching movies then go right ahead! It's your time to waste! Life is a GIFT and you should enjoy it however you want to. The only reason people work is to make money so they can keep enjoying it at the standard they'd like, but if you have the option to enjoy it with less money then more power to you! It's not easy! Life can get very boring and insufferable without money, so that's why people work.

Appreciate the sentiment but it's not this easy and even watching a movie is too much of a task for many people. Wasting your life instead of actually living it is awful and miserable, and that is valid even when you have a job. Many people here are sensitive enough to understand that this way of living is just a deep waste of human potential. And still we can't get out of it. That's why many of us are suffering like this.

I am a 34-year-old NEET.

I don't know what to say about it. I've been like this for five years, but it wasn't by choice. It might sound cliché, but I think circumstances led me to this.
