I am plaaning on jumping if sn doesnt work out. Hitting the ground hard from a huge height (terminal velocity) , head first, sounds agonizing, or do welose consciousness immediately we don't feel anything?

I too am planning on jumping. I'd say it will be agonizing until you die or become unconcious but that is usually only a moment-a few seconds(I'd think and hope at least)
Well if they survived I'm sure it was quite painful....

Probably excruciating, i don't even want to think about it. If you're going head first i think chances are you'll die immediately, especially from something very high. You probably won't even be able to process pain. You'll just be feeling the rush of falling and then enter nothingness.

It probably varies, and it probably makes a difference how you land. And luck.

People used to think jumping from the Golden Gate bridge was peaceful but most of the survivors are paralyzed. The one famous survivor that turned it into a public speaking career said he felt all of his bones break and was going to drown but a sea lion miraculously helped him back. It turned out well for him because he's happy now.

When I first became suicidal, jumping was what I was kind of set on but now I think it might be one of the most painful/risky ways so I'm out on that.

Kevin Hines is the guy, he landed on his feet he changed his mind half way down and actively tried to land on his feet. There was a study done by a medical research board on Golden Gate jumpers. Wont be any surprise that if you jump feet first you have the best chance of surviving, but the study also showed that landing on your head was also not the best chance of a quick death. Im not trying to encourage anyone into anything, just trying to debunk some myths.

I think it depends on your body size, speed you hit the ground, and how you land and maybe other factors that determines if you die or not

I suspect that would be a bad sample to draw conclusions from. By virtue of surviving, they're going to be in pain (broken bones hurt), and we can't very well ask people who died on impact or got knocked unconcious first what they felt. We can find out what surviving a fall feels like, but not what dying from one feels like.

It don't matter, once your dead your dead, to be aware of pain or pain that was you need to be conscious, when you jump and die that's it, no going back.

I would assume that if the height is right it would be instant. I think of the poor souls who had to jump from the twin towers before it collapsed. :(

In this post a member shows a complete study about height, velocity, it is umissable document to any jumper. Might be inclluided in wki, chapter jumping. Data are strict standards. any person who want to do ajserious jump, might read it.

I hope it was helpful to you.

Clever but not original :pfff:
I know head first is typically best but what about into water? Head still? Or should I belly flop to death?:pfff:

why would you resort to a method like this when inert gas is known to be peaceful and reliable (if i may ask)

As long as your brain cells have neurotransmitters, oxygen, blood, and energy you should feel immense pain from a fall. I have studied suicide method for a years. I can advise a painless method.

Head injury now caused permanent epilepsy.

Oh an 2 months in hospital cause of the brain injury 1 month in a mental health facility.

So thats jumping out of my books so yup can be quite sore or an instant death I guess the higher up the better a lot higher.

The pain it was like ever had a very bad fall hitting the ground as in not being able to save your self like fall off a bicycle. Well feel that pain 100 times more. When I hit the ground because I hit my head I was knocked out for about 8 mins when I woke up I was dizzy I didn't know what happened kinda like shock feeling then thats whens the pain hit me. Not sure of exact height but it was between 4 and 5 stories high of a block apartments it was pretty high.

head first you'd die immediately. How much pain can one experience in a microsecond?

What would you rate your pain on a scale of 1 to 10? Would you still consider jumping again if you felt the need to catch the bus? Why or why not?

I don't know what it would feel like but if there's enough impact to your head then you should be unconsious. I wouldn't even consider anything less than 20 stories, there's no point taking chances when it's easy to find a tall enough building, the taller the better. I don't know how easy it is to land on your head, but landing on your back is probably good enough because your head will still hit directly with no cushioning. As tempting as it might be to do a flip, it's probably not a good idea...
