Ok, agreeing or not with blackpill ideology, it certainly attracts a lot of people's attention on this forum.

I understand that the misoginy involved can be pretty harmful for women - killers incels, like Elliot Rodgers, focus on them - but the lookism argument has its point, as we're living on the image era, guided by social medias.

I woudn't say that incels are completelly wrong, but there's more than just appearance involved; on the other side, blaming women for one's inability of getting laid and having a romantic partner seems delusional, even though it's a tough situation to experience.

i don't really have a horse in the gender aspect of this particular race (my trans ass has a whole separate set of appearance-related problems to live with separate from heterosexual dating....) but i'll say i was treated completely different by others in the brief period of time i was skinny before gaining all my binge eating weight back. people literally treat you like a subhuman orc if you're fat or generally unattractive

If you are in a major city and know 1000 people and are 20 and good looking, yes, there may be 50 ugly short dudes in your circle who have girlfriends. They are possibly there because of random chance, being rich, knowing hot guys (being the best friend of someone good looking having grown up in the same town), or just having a huge dick or being really funny and hooking up with a so-so friend of a hot girl, but reality is reality and your little worldview of your reality is not statistical data.

There may be 4000 ugly dudes in your city who you aren't noticing because they don't go out because they kept being treated poorly. You're noticing 50 dudes who are ugly who happen to be lucky or unusual and going "see, it's personality" because you can't fathom math and statistics.

This polyannaish "Well, personality matters" is bullshit, the data shows it's bullshit, but it makes some people feel better.

Math is math, data is data. Anecdotal evidence like "but it was cold in my city for 3 weeks" does not change major statistical trends.

Many women date men who are labeled "below average" and still get treated like trash, so the "nice guy" thing doesn't always hold up but I see your point, i feel for women who are also labed as below average as they also get little recognition or acknowledgement,, It's sad how fundamentally warped our views on beauty have become, like everything is just a transaction based on looks.

there's not much more to it
it preys on insecure males who are frustrated with their life and gives them an easy, oftentimes modifiable outlet such as appearance. this ties in to looksmaxxing courses and selfharming behaviors like bonesmashing.

likewise, this happens to women as well. it's all just the beauty industry doing its beauty industry thing.

blackpill specifically focuses on redirecting your own frustration and shame to other people, thus feeding individualism and the "us vs them" tactic most ideologies possess. "women won't ever take me over chad," "stacys are dumb, shallow bitches," "chads will always cuck you". sentiments purposefully created and echoed in order to keep you miserable, so that you hopefully end up harming yourself or others.

Men ≠ the patriarchy as a whole. Cis men benefit from the patriarchy (on varying levels depending on their other marginalizations), but to assume that all men are toxic isn't a good stance. It isn't as bad a stance as the misogynistic "aLl WomEn aRe bAd" stance, but it still kind of throws nuance to the wolves.
