for the past six months since I struggled with depression and aniexty, my sleep has gone seriously downhill. I don't have a problem falling asleep but I wake much earlier than I usually do. I get about 5 hours of sleep. I know that is not as bad as people on this list who suffer true insomnia but it's still rough. I think my mind is just racing too much that I struggle to get into a good deep sleep pattern. I can't remember the last time I set my alarm and it actually woke me up.

any form of sleep deprivation is torturous, for me i've never (literally, never) had a good night sleep without the assistance of medication, which then makes me feel super groggy the following day, or gives me nightmares, or both. i sleep 4-5 hours on a good night, with most nights being less or not at all, and always have since i was at least 7/8 years old. i can remember so many nights just laying awake staring at my ceiling. i hate this.

It is very harmful to sleep less than 6 hours. Try to take at least a nap during the day.

Might not be of any help but a person I knew who had cancer used THC drops to fall asleep.

It really sounds like you've suffered so much in this cruel existence, it's so dreadful to me how there's all this suffering in existing, I hope you find the relief you search for.
