Even though animals don't really have a concept of 'suicide' per say, its still the same thing. They'll take their own lives if they realize that they don't contribute to life, whether it be because they can't reproduce or by being severely ill for example. Other animals see that and understand that they're physically unable to be of any use, and it's perfectly fine, maybe even encouraged. But for humans? you're seen as sick, mentally ill, thrown into a box or pumped full of meds until you're deemed "better". Some people might have the right intentions when they tell people not to take their own lives, "you have so much to live for" and all that.. but for others? its all about milking, making as much money off someone as humanly possible.

I've been led to believe time and time again that I'm not wanted. I serve no purpose, in fact its more of a burden to keep me alive if anything. I don't work or contribute to society or even make any sort of financial gain from being alive. I don't even want to reproduce. There're 8 billion people in existence now and it's only going to get higher, surely people believe that there's runts and ones who'd be better off just ending it, right?

I wish I could just tell my parents that I want to be euthanized without any sort of backlash. I understand that they love me to some extend and have taken most of their lives to take care of me, but at the same time it's my life. I think I should be able to choose whether I live or die? am I selfish for that? probably. But I still want that kind of free will.

There definitly have been documented cases of animal suicides like throwing themselves off cliffs or running towards predators.

Any source on that?

If you're referring to lemmings throwing themselves off of cliffs, that has since been debunked. As far as I know, most animals who run toward predators are essentially mind-controlled by some sort of parasite/virus which isn't really quite suicide.
