I'm very inexperienced but I'm pretty sure most rounds are sold with the casings attached... otherwise you would have to somehow connect the two yourself which seems like it would be pointlessly difficult for the consumer.

In that picture you can see the red bullet lodged in the gold case beneath it, with a gap for the propellant.

This is the bullet and the casing. Make sure you have the right ammo for the type of gun you have.

Yes, those are just bullets. A lot of gun nuts like to reload the old casings and most people don't have to resources and tools to reuse the old bullets.

Live ammunition will say what caliber it is on the box and it will be a lot larger.
