Yeah Ami has risks , brain damage if regimen not followed or rescued too soon . It usually brings comatose state before death . So if one took bit too little or saved during that stage -- one would remain alive (in a coma or awake and somewhat damaged) .

Some members reported that months after failed Ami attempt they had motor , memory , speech , concentration problems -- pronounced though not debilitating . The worst reported was terrible migraines , but like , debilitating . I'm sure there are worse cases not reported here ..

There are several reports of members that tried . I read them but too tired to look/search now . Although failed attempt took its toll they appear to be doing okay , considering , with some lasting effects , but obviously they wanted to ctb regardless (I cannot speak on they're behalf... Just what I remember/interpret ) . I think their biggest "regret" was taking too little (like 5g) or being rescued .

Really need that high dosage (8g+) , lots of sedation , and time not to be rescued -- then it's peaceful and certain .

Quarky what do you think is more important the ami dose or the benzo dose? And do you belive in tge 48 hr window or thin its exagerrated?
I normally wouldnt talk so matter of fact but the earler poster confuses me. An offspring attempts suicide and then they join a pro choice website , with a pro life message, on the same day while the person is very ill in hospital ?

I think both . Ami important for fatality . Benzo for peacefulness (otherwise violent death) . Too little Ami you survive , too little benzo it would be horrible .. I think .

I assumed 24h is enough , but member here mentioned 30h , though with low dosage. I still think huge dose 24h is enough -- but perhaps better be on the safe side? I personally change my Ami plan (which is backup for SN) from 24h to 36h.

I think @schizomom sounds very distressed and in pain . I don't know about motives . Maybe her son is in hospital and she's looking for answers , searching the internet for that method , and ran into this thread ? People in severe pain do things .

I'm not sure the message was pro-life per se . She kinda wrote "Just do it right" and "Don't ctb if you have some hope". She did not say or imply not to do it . She wrote "leave a note for your mom" . Kinda said how to do it properly ... This had a tone of acceptance . And was touching . "No peace for me" , sharing true agony rather than guilt tripping , attacking , or blaming .

Many long time members said if one has some doubt or some hope -- maybe it's not the time to ctb . Just like mom here .

I'm speaking "in her defense" , sorta , but it was puzzling . Maybe @schizomom could share with us
