There is the romance of it (Hemingway, Thompson), but it's not the most rational method in my view. There are better methods that will leave you more intact if not successful. (Are you willing to risk being one of the 10% that fails?).
At my grandparent's place they have a shotgun, however I've only seen them use birdshot bullets. And the shotgun trigger hard to reach.
Hypothetically I could use it to CBT but I'm scared. I'm not sure how to even use a gun or if I'm using the right bullets. I think I'm too cowardly to even put it against my head.
It's incredibly scary, more than hanging, for some reason.
Most people who fail do so bc they put the gun under their chin. They blow their faces off and do minimal damage to the brain. It's important to aim for somewhere vital like the brain stem.
