Am I the only one afraid to open my SN bag?

Between issues of wanting to avoid degradation and deep fear of it somehow not being right (as it's my only option), is anyone else afraid to open their SN?

The time is drawing near though, so I really do need to check it.

I'm sure this can't just be me…?

There is no danger to open the SN for a short moment. But don´t leave it open for too long. If you want to do a blood test, take a smal amount of SN and mix it with some blood drops. Keep some blood to compare the colors. The blood mixed with SN should turn brown.

I feel the same way. I have been debating myself whether to open or not. I want to test it but I am afraid it will be wrong. And also it going wrong or turning to nitrate scares me a lot.

I dont have SN yet but yes I also don't think I can open mine until the day of ctb. I live in a place with constant, extreme levels of humidity and I'm paranoid that even a quick open will spoil it. I guess I'll just have to hope that it's okay.

Besides, if it's a bad batch the worst outcome is gonna be not dying. It's my life, I can just keep trying to end it with new purchases until I get a good batch

How do you do the blood test? blood direct on some powder?

You can open up your packages to check it out. It won't hurt it. If you left it unsealed for years then you would have a change in potency.

I don't see why not. Especially if it's in a zip lock pouch, or a container.

You can just take a small amount of sn to do the blood test. Use tape to seal it and then put it in a zip lock back, then put this back in a second zip lock bag to be sure.

I'm not afraid to open it at all because I know for a fact that it doesn't convert that quickly.
