Be your own sun, be your own foundation; never base your life on another human being. Prioritize yourself first; your needs should come first. Don't sacrifice yourself for someone else, don't abandon yourself for someone else, don't love another person more than yourself. Practicing self-love and self-worth is not merely a stoic attitude, nor a romantic phrase about virtues, but the only means of psycho-emotional survival in a world where everyone is dishonest. No matter how incredible the person you love may be; no matter how intense the connection between you two; no matter how incredible that love is: never place any individual above yourself, never stop being your own central axis.
Because good people also betray, because those who love also act coldly, because there is no guarantee that the future will preserve what is good. If you don't do this, if you entrust your life to others, people will crush your feelings—even if you beg, there will be no compassion. Don't allow yourself to be vulnerable, don't give everything to another person, don't watch your world crumble. Avoid being broken by those you loved.
