  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

If I no longer exist then nothing can concern me which is all I wish and hope for, I just want all to be forgotten about, I just wish to never suffer ever again. And we are all going to cease existing anyway, it's all that's inevitable, existing to me is just waiting for death, I see it as all so futile.

Not for me. There is no one to concern about. I'm the last one left from the family.

No matter how worried we are, there's nothing we can do. Whether or not the body is found, those close to us are going to have a bad time. Writing a note to comfort them might be a good idea. Death will always be a sad event. A suicide may be a little more traumatic for them, so perhaps the only thing we can consider is leaving the scene as "neat" as possible. I wish it were easier. For them and for us. We'll leave with a lot of guilt, overloaded with thoughts.

i don't believe so. for one, we'll be dead, but also, humans are quite resilient. we endure terrible things, such as the loss of loved ones, and we continue on living, just as our ancestors did before us. we may not ever fully recover from such a loss, but that, i feel, is by design. it is what separates us from the machines.

I think it's inevitable most people will be concerned. So concerned in fact that it keeps a number of us trapped here. As to 'should' we be concerned- that's more complex I think.

It seems like a good way to live to try not to inflict harm on others. We most especially don't want to inflict pain on those we love. Suicides can cause immense pain so- from that perspective, it's more 'moral' to avoid doing that.

However- how 'moral' is it to expect that of us? 'Life' isn't just something that materialises. Birthing a child here is a decision. In so doing that, the parents are burdening the child with a whole set of expectations. We're expected to be grateful for that life. Likely from the age of 18-20 ish, we'll be expected to start paying for it ourselves. On top of that though, we're expected to not be troublesome to our parents. Most certainly not to hurt them in the extent of abadoning them via suicide. Yet, they know they will likely be abandoning us at some point- via their own deaths. So- how fair is it to place those expectations on a sentient being? Especially when we know life and the world is fraught with problems. Problems so bad that people may begin contemplating suicide in childhood.

I'd argue that the expectation that we should and must care isn't actually fair. It's almost inevitable though- when we do end up caring about others. Which is what makes it especially unfair I think. In the worst case scenario, life feels like a hostage situation with the added problem of Stockholm Syndrome.

It's completely irrational but I'm really worried about what people will think of me leaving in such a way. I also don't want my boyfriend or friends to be sad but I don't think anyone in my family would care all that much other than being ashamed of me

I often think about how they'll find me, I don't like thinking about how they'll cope with my death. I especially worry about my sister she has trouble functioning in life but I know she's against suicide so she won't kill herself atleast. I fear that she'll need me in the future and that I'm dooming her if I leave. But i'm so tired.

I can't speak for others as I know others here I'm sure probably should be concerned. But for me i speak with absolute certainty if I ctb'd there is not a single person for a single second that would even be remotely perturbed except for whoever would find me and that would just be inconvenient. In terms of impact absolutely none on anything or anyone.

There is no one financially dependent on me. The near and dear ones will move on within hours after my death. So, I am totally not worried about the emotional aftermath.

I just don't think anyone will be that surprised. I dare say that a lot will be relieved so. Those that will be impacted well I'm isolating for a lot of reasons.. but one if em is hoping that its just minimizing smthin.

I think at this point im too far gone to focus on impact. Feels very much like it's a "either I stay suffering or leave and just accept it'll hurt people" im choosing the latter nowadays. I need out of this existence.

I can worry all I want, but at the end of the day, I'll be dead and can't control how people will react or what they will think. Best not to concern myself too much with that.
