Greetings,

I come to you with a topic for discussion.

I've been planning taking my motorcycle and riding it at top speed into a mountain side. I have the perfect setup and I feel like this plan is basically bulletproof.
My motorcycle can reach only about 185km/h at this specific section so that would be the speed of impact. Wearing no gear and riding into a solid piece of rock should be fatal.

I am not sure if this idea is good. The chances of surviving an instant wall crash at that speed are insanely low. I am just not sure about the ethics of this.
If I were to do this at night I know that I would not endanger anyone, the road is quiet at night. I feel like this is not morally correct. It would obviously be in the news, stress emergency services and would leave a big impact behind.

I like the idea, it feels peaceful and just right but I am not sure if it is acceptable.
Please let me know your honest opinions on both the efficacy of the plan and on the moral side.

All comments are welcomed, thanks in advance.

It does sound likely you would die. From a moral standpoint the only issue I could imagine is the city or state workers having to clean up and the cost of it. Neither of those are the biggest moral issue. Not great but not the worst thing either.

The small chance of survival is what would scare me. Although not very likely, if you did survive it would be awful. Awful for you and your loved ones. The physical and financial mess you would be in would be catastrophic.

Thank you for your reply. I for sure would feel bad for the people cleaning up the mess but I am unbothered by the cost, I have paid enough in taxes.

The chances of survival are slim to none. Based on my calculations my body would experience over 240G of deceleration force.

The current records of survivable impacts are ~180G in F1 and ~214G in IndiCar, both extremely different and much safer than motorcycles.
As of motorcycles the record is 29.9G in MotoGP where the rider survived. That is however a much different as MotoGP riders have extremely good safety gear compared to my plan of riding basically naked.

If you hit that wall head-on, at 185kp/h and no gear - you're done for. There's no coming back from that. If you do, brother, you're superman.

Ethically speaking, yeah it wouldn't be great to clean that up. It's your call to make, really.

To end, it doesn't sound peaceful to me at all. I ride bikes, and I never liked the idea of having an accident at high speeds - though I ride like a maniac I try to err on the 'safe' side of things. I remember taking this 1300cc 4-cyl bike around a long bend. I misjudged the bend going in and I almost didn't make it. The adrenaline rush was so bad that I needed a few hours to calm myself back down.

I'd much rather just down a nice cocktail and go to sleep. But hey, to each their own!

this is going to be so much scarier than you realize.. one thing you aren't considering is that if your SI (survival instinct) kicks in late in the game (near when you are about to crash) and you instinctively try to swerve or save your self a little some how (SI can be very powerful when you are faced with imminent death) then you might end up still crashing but not dying..

i dunno, the whole thing just seems really sucky.. i'm not a big fan of the looney tunes methods like these.. they are scary, and even if you think the chance of failing is small, if you DO fail it is REALLY going to suck for you, majorly..

I've considered taking pills to possibly help me stop myself from not doing it. Not sure though.

Honestly I have considered taking my life while riding many times. The idea of having a final ride to the spot, taking some pills and going for it sounds awesome. The last adrenaline rush and dying doing the only thing that makes me even slightly happy.

I don't want to wreck the bike and I do not want to traumatize EMS but for me this truly feels like the best option.

I tried ending my life with my car. I wasn't even aware of it, i just never pulled the wheel. I'd say it's a bad idea because you don t know how you ll react.... You may survive and become disabled. And that's a tough life. I can barely walk, i live in constant pain, all day everyday. You never know what'll happen. I crushed frontal, with 110 km/h, i was then heding to a cliff and was gonna fall, but an 8 wheeler came and stopped my car. It's never a good idea to ctb via accident. You cand end up disabled, in constant pain and basically worse than now.

Idk it sounds supersketch, when people die in accidents like this they didn't have SI anticipating the incoming collision. SI is absoluteley going to screw this up I feel like.

I don't know man...pure luck or god or whatever...people die from much less, i don't get how i sirvived. Now i live with pain, knees are fucked, hip is fucked and my brain is fucked. Living as a wreck. I wouldn't recommend ctb via car accident. If it does not succed you are fucked.

Really sorry to hear that. I'm still thinking about this method, not sure.

Maybe yeah but if planned well even a last second abort wouldn't matter.

I still feel like car vs motorcycle at a much higher speed into a wall is a lot different. Surviving that would be beyond horrible though, that's true.
