I have some doubts... Very afraid of waking up disabled or else. Any thoughts on that happening?

As far as I know, it's either done correctly and lethal, or failed with a full recovery without any side effects.

Do correct me if I'm wrong, though, that's what I've heard from multiple sources.

There are risks as with any method. I've seen 2 posts on here with possible kidney damage.
A case study of another survivor in the link below who has brain damage.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9013800/
Sounds brutal, but the fact that brain damage is rare, presented 2 months after the person made a full recovery indicating it might not have been caused by the SN, and the person is elderly indicates it's highly unlikely it will happen for the vast majority of people willing to CTB with SN.

I'm no SN specialist, but failing seems to happen only if taking less than the recommended amount (25g +) and/or vomiting, given that the SN is pure enough, of course.

With a correct amount of pure enough SN and the drugs meant to help not vomiting, fasting 8 hours before the drink, and a backup glass, there shouldn't be reasons to worry.

Reminder: antiacid is no longer recommended.

If you really aren't comfortable with the method, explore other ones and take your time. Never rush.

SN is a reliable method if done correctly, I believe that if someone fails it there is always a reason behind it, like they didn't follow the protocol. SN is a poison after all and many people have died from it, there is a reason why so many on here wish to obtain it.

Well, the thing is, nobody here can offer the world. Every single method has some obstacle you have to deal with. Nobody can give guaranteed painlessness and guaranteed success because N isn't available anymore.

So it's up to you which option is best. Gas is pretty good but not everyone has the know how and finance. Are jumping, OD, hanging etc less risky than SN? Not at all, they all come with their own substantial risk element.

All things considered SN is pretty solid. It's not perfect in any one department but it's pretty good in most. It's reliable if guidelines are followed and by most accounts has manageable symptoms. I think it's a pretty fair 7/10 option.

As others have said, SN is a reliable method if you follow Stan's guide.

You could consider combining SN with another method. For example, my current CTB method is SN then jumping.

There are no negative info about consequences from people who failed SN on this forum, except two cases who got problems with kidneys.

But there is info from this Russian article about SN poisoning consequences (first two paragraphs on page 6).

"In severe cases of intoxication due to degenerative changes in erythrocytes and a decrease in their resistance, hemolysis and secondary hemolytic anemia occur (on the 3-5th day after poisoning). In this case, hemoglobinuria, kidney damage (nephropathy with varying degrees of acute renal failure) and liver damage (toxic hepatopathy) can be observed. Severe acute vascular insufficiency (nitrite shock), coma, pulmonary edema may develop. The clinical picture of poisoning is highly variable. In some cases, changes in the respiratory organs come to the fore, in others - in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, in others - in the blood system."

Also there are no comments about brain damage on this forum from people who failed SN.

But there are several articles which say that brain damage is possible.

From this article (Page 2, Discussion, 2nd paragraph): "Nitrite is also a potent vasodilator and can
cause coronary ischemia and stroke as a result of hypotension, tachycardia, and hypoxia."

Also article about survived case with brain damage: "Delayed post-hypoxic leukoencephalopathy (DPHL) is a demyelinating syndrome that occurs days to weeks after the brain has recovered from a coma. It is caused by the period of hypoxia and is characterized by mental disorders, extrapyramidal system symptoms, and motor changes. Common causes include cardiogenic shock, severe anemia, massive blood loss, and poisoning. There are only a few reports of DPHL due to nitrite poisoning in literature.

Most patients usually recover completely. However, DPHL can easily induce long-term neurological deficits. Within a few weeks, patients with mild symptoms gradually begin to recover some functions, such as speaking and walking. After 1–−2 years, most patients return to their baseline level, but following such poisoning, cognitive impairment including short-term memory deficits and fatigue may persist and hamper the patient's independence, reducing their quality of life."

Why are so many posts focused on failing lately? Think that you gonna succeed, that it is gonna work out for you. The ones who failed didn't follow the protocol or the dose was less. Think that your ctb with go smooth and it will happen.
