Honestly this is terrifying to me:
I keep flipping between opioid overdose and SN.

It has something to do with SN being converted to nitric oxide and expanding the blood vessels. This creates a protective effect in the brain. How is it that SN doesn't cause damage if the attempt fails?
How is it that SN doesn't cause damage if the attempt fails? I read that N is supposedly neuroprotective and this is responsible for it also not causing permanent damage in some cases that were reversed. But surely at some point the lack of oxygen will start to cause damage in the brain.

i think your brain doesnt need much oxygen to stay alive and your heart gives out first

I'm no chemist, but it probably has something to do with the fact that SN is a conservant, probably allows the brain tissue to survive for a much longer time, so by the time EMT puts you on oxygen and starts pumping methylene blue, the brain gets operational again without any damage or impairment. Just a guess, there was a SN case here in my city where two guys took SN together and their bodies were found a week later, the coroner mentioned to the TV crew that the compound the men used (SN) had conserved the bodies, that's why there was no decomposition whatsoever to their bodies, they looked like they were sleeping.
Seriously? It stops decomposition? For how long, do you know?I'm no chemist, but it probably has something to do with the fact that SN is a conservant, probably allows the brain tissue to survive for a much longer time, so by the time EMT puts you on oxygen and starts pumping methylene blue, the brain gets operational again without any damage or impairment. Really their bodies didn't decompose at all? Do you have any links to this story or anything?

Both sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate, along with nitrites, are used to cure or preserve meats by slowing bacterial growth. They also prevent rancidity.
Yeah I guess it is used to cure meats.
I have asked this elsewhere but can someone please explain how and why one would not end up a vegetable by failing SN?Great. Another "trophy" for the forced lifers. SN is better because it won't leave you brain damaged or a vegetable if you fail.

They are trying to warn people. I can't fault them for that. It just leaves some questions about how it happened exactly. Clearly he was found and revived.Parents parading around their vegetable child

Heroine has to be the most overrated drug. Try OxyContin. That shut is the best.Ive ODed on H once. It was great!

Just one mechanism how SN prevents brain damage is because SN causes extreme vasodilation of blood vessels in the brain .I have asked this elsewhere but can someone please explain how and why one would not end up a vegetable by failing SN?
If it depletes oxygen, and the brain is lacking oxygen, doesn't that mean possible brain damage no matter the route?
Fucking horrific. Jesus Christ just kill the man in his sleep, this is my worst nightmare. Parents parading around their vegetable child, even airing out his life to the public when he clearly cannot consent and using him as some anti-drug dog. Disgusting.
Maybe we have never seen a case of SN brain damage because the people are incapable of coming back to tell us? (not trying to be smart)
This is the consequences of saving a life at any cost.Jesus this is horrible, he thought he's saving him but are you really saving him when he is forced to live the rest of his life like this?!?! Stupid prolifers
Someone here was in a unconscious from SN for a couple of hours and when recovered had no brain damage. He woke up in the hospital and made a full recovery.Maybe we have never seen a case of SN brain damage because the people are incapable of coming back to tell us?
And yet they always parade the brain damaged survivors from other methods. One would have come out by now at least.Maybe we have never seen a case of SN brain damage because the people are incapable of coming back to tell us? (not trying to be smart)
Despite SN being popular here relatively few deaths are caused by it. A Google search brings up only a few reported cases. I suspect if we had a bigger sample to study we would find people sustaining long term damage. And yet they always parade the brain damaged survivors from other methods. One would have come out by now at least.
