Saw a youtube video about a case of a parent murdering their children because they were autistic, the comments were atrocious. Full of whingy martyr parents pulling out the ol' victim card, making it all about themselves. "Parents of disabled kids are huMan Too!1!!" no consideration of whether disabled people have feelings... just themselves. Yes, raising any kids is hard, but these people had not one ounce of consideration for how disabled/autistic people or their kids actually feel. Just, "Me me me, us us us, autism warrior moms, special needs teachers" blah blah blah, no considering of actual autistic/disabled people... because to them we are subhumans.
Also lots of "My sister's best friends aunts son has severe autism and-" type of BS, along with comments talking about autistic people like we are burdens/violent/aggressive or some kind of sub-human/wild animal, how our family are victims for having to take care of us, how we make life difficult for everyone around us and we are burdens for existing, etc. I kid you not also people sympathizing with the MURDERER who killed his own children because "he was stressed and overworked and it's too hard to raise disabled kids" its just disgusting. No consideration for how the kids might be feelings, or the autistic/disabled community. Just themselves and their own victim cards.
There's so many cases of neurotypical people being violent and aggressive and abusing/murdering disabled people, but nobody bats an eye when that happens. But if an autistic person has a meltdown and throws a chair (and nobody is hurt), people will freak out talk about them in dehumanising ways, as if they are dealing with some kind of rabid dog/wild animal and fearmonger about it. We are simutaneously "stupid incompetent slow toddlers that can't think for ourselves" and "evil aggressive sociopathic monsters that hurt people and are burdens on society" it is exhausting being simutaneously infantilised and demonised, treated as sub-human.
doesnt help that a toxic family member of mine (that has caused me to SH and is probably a trigger for some of my trauma today) LOVES to tokenise me as their "autistic grand daughter" or whatever, despite being insanely ableist and throughout my childhood, constantly shitting on me for being disabled or basically not "normal"... like i dont make eye contact or smile and sometimes i literally cant talk, apparently that means im "selfish" or whatever... like they dont actually care about me or want to accept my disability, they just want to use me to garner clout and that SWEET ATTENTION... because this family member LOOOVES attention and feasting on drama/strong emotion, stirring the pot, pushing people to their limits and then playing the victim... like imagine someone hitting a baseball bat at a bee hive, damaging it and harassing the bees, and then when the bees finally get sick of their bs, the person cries and play sthe victim and cries about how the "mean bees stung me and it hURTS!!!!"
