A psychiatrist ruined my life

I wasn't even depressed . They just diagnose you with anything these days. They fabricate illnesses so you become dependent on the big pharma. I was fine. I am young and I was just going through some self doubt moment. And I thought reaching out was the way to go. The mental health professionals and the regular route don't work. It's a fucking scheme. I don't feel human. I'm ruining my life I'm ruining my oportunitirs all because my brain is fried with antidepressants I never needed. I can't fucking forgive myself for this. I'm not even 20 yet. I can't be an adult

But in all seriousness, sorry to hear about your struggles. You can go off of the anti depressants but obviously under supervision and it'll take a long time to taper off properly. And get help elsewhere if this doctor offered no guidance other than "pop this pill"

But yeah like how the person above me said it, find a non corrupt piece of shit to be your psychiatrist and ask them for advice on how to slowly get off the medicine.

I hate psychiatrists . We are just guniea pigs . They talked me into electro shock therapy down playing side effects. I lost a lot of memories

I strongly believe that psychiatry and most of psychology is a pseudoscience. I still can't believe how many people are supporting it. When antipsychotics first came out, scientists called them "chemical-induced lobotomies," but somehow we are still giving them to people. Capitalism is gonna capitalism.

Your brain develops until your 25 and people can learn things and make connections into old age. You are at the prime age of neuroplasticity to be able to rewire yourself after a round of antidepressants. It could take a year or three but I believe this kind of problem can be healed in many cases. Here's a link to what I think is a great website and forum for surviving antidepressants which has a tapering section with input from users on a the major AD drugs.
