I've been shooting for 40 years, shot almost every kind of handgun, except for those ridiculous magnums.
Just shooting guns doesn't necessarily mean you understand the physics etc, however, it does sound like you know quite a bit about that. I would like to see more info about black powder firearms. There's almost no info about them in this forum.
It's easy to buy .45 cal muzzleloading black powder pistols. But just because they're .45 cal doesn't mean much from my very limited gun knowledge. It's also the shape of the bullet and the speed which matters. Black powder firearms use round bullets, as in a little ball which you squeeze into the muzzle. The kentucky .45 cal pistol seems to be a popular choice in black powder firearm stores.
Just taking a chance here and hoping there's any good info you can share with me. I'm also thinking of maybe finding a more gun specialized community to ask about this in, but they are usually very quick to ban people if their tingle senses suspect someone might be wanting to CTB.
For example, how would a .45 cal black powder pistol compare to a 9mm (without hollow point)?
