I know that the thinner the rope the faster you blackout and the thicker it is the less pain and that the best range is 10-14mm but I currently cannot access anything but thick ropes. I search a lot of shops in my city and the only thing available is a rope the size of a thumb and a half . is it fine to use it if I am on the heavier side (110kg)?

It's should be fine, mate. The rope isn't really a problem, it's where you hang it from. And it also depends if you're going full suspension or partial suspension. Also- welcome to the forum! You'll find an incredible community of other miserable people here, everyone's incredibly kind. If you've got any more questions about hanging I've done a bunch of research on it so just ask, love and peace, mate♥️

thank you dude appreciate the help, I've been lurking here for a month and yeah I like it here. anyway I am doing full suspension. my room (which located it in the 2nd floor) has a hole beside the window that the previous tenant probably used for air conditioning and it opens to the street. I am planning to put the rope through it then bring back from the window. the only way my anchor can break is if I somehow bring the wall down so the anchor part is secured. but I am a little worried about the rope. is it really fine for it to be so big? I ask because the biggest I've seen in this forum is 20mm and this is 1.5X that so I worry despite my whole weight pushing down on it that the knot still won't tighten enough and so I will stay awake choking till I die.

I'll admit I don't know for absolute certain, but if I had to make an educated guess I'd say the rope is fine. I'd trust it to take my life, if it had to. Worst case scenario, it'll put less pressure than recommended on your cartoids, because it'd be more spread out by the girth of the rope. It'd still probably kill you, though. Especially because you said you're 110kg. I would check the wall though, does it seem sturdy enough? I'm in the US so our walls are all paper thin here, so it'd just make me a little paranoid.

the wall is made out of bricks filled with concrete. I envy y'all though. the whole reason why I am resorting is to this big of a rope is 1)all the stores only sell either 6mm rope or 30mm 2)I live in a 3rd world country that doesn't have amazon or anything similar to it. we legitimately can't buy stuff online. as a matter of fact we also don't have international credit cards at all

The wall should be just fine then. I'm sorry you couldn't get anything that would be better, my friend. If you've got any more questions, just ask. There's also a hanging thread under "suicide resources" under sticky threads, you'll be able to look at that. Best of luck, mate♥️
