I would also like to know more about the ideal dose for Zofran as it's the best AE i could get my hands on. I don't want to take to much, but also don't want to take to little. I was under the assumption it was a powerful antiemetic. Would just like an affirmation that it will prevent nausea in extreme cases.
Are you saying Zofran isn't a viable AE to sufficiently prevent/reduce nausea for drug aided respiratory depression?
No. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying it may or may not be. EXIT Are recommending a mix of Meto and Zofran. I think the doses in that combo for zofran is 8mg. I forget what the meto dose is. I'm sure someone can add that info.
I was simply saying it could work but it might not. For some it is suitable but others have used the recommended regiment of AE's and vomited. Others use no anti emetic and succeed. It's not an exact science due to the nature of human difference. There are always variables so anybody telling you it will work 100‰ is being wreckless because not even a doctor would rule out the possiblity of failure because there is always a chance. No matter how small. I thought I'd been pretty clear with what I wrote the first time bit hopefully this has cleared it up for you. Although I feel like I'm repeating myself.
It's not black and white. There's no guarantee. But the chance is relatively high for success. However it isn't what's recommended as you know. So you kind of knew this answer before you asked the question hoping somebody would tell you yes that's fine. It doesn't really work that way though. Except perhaps on the odd, very specific occasion.
If you want to follow a guide you nees to follow it or take the chance on you own back. As you have stomach issues I would recommend chasing down meto as it speeds transit through gut helping you to absorb N quickly and avoid it coming back up. That is opinion, not advice. You must choose for yourself based on what ever research you can do. Maybe search Stans Guide. It's aimed at SN but suites N pretty well. All the info on AE's is there and id they're good enough for SN they are good for N.
Copy paste.....
Stans Guide
..... Into the search bar.
That will tell you what you need to know I think.
