why is self strangulation uncommon?

are success rates low?

i have seen various articles highlighting zip ties and various other things & wanted as much research/info as possible gathered!

I once considered using the tourniquet method but turned out it wasn't as easy as it looked.
Without compressing the carotid artery, just randomly tie your neck will likely cause much discomfort.
