I am putting together my final playlist. Most of it is instrumental, with songs by composers such as Hans Zimmer and Ludovico Einaudi. Sometimes, it is music without words that moves me the most.

However, this rendition of "This Bitter Earth" by Dinah Washington, combined with the mournful melody of "On The Nature Of Daylight" by Max Richter, seems like a fitting song to listen to as my life slips away.

I am going to make a playlist soon of my favourite songs. I know 'Dance with my Father' by Luther Vandross will be on there as it was my mum's favourite song and was played at her funeral.

It's about a paratrooper who jumps out of a plane, his parachute fails and… you can guess what happens next. It inspired me to (at least want to) go out in the same way.

Funny how a song about a a guy falling to his death has such a cheerful melody. Also love how what served to some as a cautionary tale about preparing your parachute is now being embraced (by myself at least) as some sort of CTB anthem. If I ever get to jump out of a plane, you can bet I'll be belting this one out the whole way up. Preferably on live stream as I say goodbye to the world.
