I'm not sure if you've ever been told that happiness comes from within, and it's up to you to decide whether to make yourself happy or not.
People say: Even if you don't have a car, you'll still wish to have one. And once you have a car, you'll desire a new one instead of an old, used car. Similarly, if you own a Ferrari, you might aspire to have a private jet. The conclusion drawn from this is that happiness is subjective and remains constant regardless of one's life circumstances.

This argument resembles the notion that color is subjective. One might argue that there is no white or black because for every white shade, there exists a brighter shade, and for every black shade, there exists a darker shade. Hence, a pessimist might perceive milk as black while an optimist might see coffee as white. Ultimately, it all resides within our minds.
I don't know how to show people that this argument is utter non sense.

I mean, if you have a Ferrari you might still want a private jet, but u can still get places with said Ferrari and god forbid a commercial airline. If you don't have a car you may not be able to get anywhere?

If you have GAP you might want Gucci but if you had no clothes then you die freezing?

It's difficult to have happiness come from within when you are freezing and can't get anywhere?

Well, if you get really figurative. I kinda get it. A pessimist can be so pessimistic that they cannot even see the milk. It simply does not exist. It is black.
An optimist can see everything about the coffee. All of its colors and details and aroma and fragrances. The light is overwhelming. It is white.
