Would you wish you had never been born or do you think any stage of your life was productive and helped someone?

I personally know that I have helped people... but in the end I always spoil all relationships... So I think it would be better for everyone who knows me if I had never been born.

If I knew it would come to this maybe. I did have some enjoyable moments which I probably didn't appreciate enough at the time and I certainly would have done things differently. But now facing the immense challenge of trying to end things, And where things are headed if I don't end things soon… On balance, never been born.

i would rather not have been born, i wish i could have helped people more and made it my life about but crippling depression and other sort of issues are preventing me to do anything.. im near to my 30's and it has been almost unbearable most of my life, rationally speaking it would be probably the right decision to ctb. if i had the chance to go back in time and prevent my birth, or any birth that would lead to an unbearable or torturous life, i would do it

No I don't wish I hadn't been born, because up until age 15 my life was mostly happy.
After 15 things started falling apart- health, substance abuse, etc.

The saddest thing about my life is that I wouldn't have traded it with anyone before things started falling apart. I was excited for the future and knew exactly what I wanted to do. Then it was all taken away. To know how that feels then lose it all is excruciating.

So I guess I just wish all that horrible shit never happened, or that I died before it started.

I wish I had never been born. This world is a horrible place. There are some nice things here (like nice animals exist) but at the end of the day, most animals just want to eat each other to survive, so it's a pretty awful earth with an evil creator.

despite all the pain i'm in, i'm glad i was born, i wouldn't wish i hadn't been born. i too highly value all that i've learned in the time i've lived, even if i don't know that much in the grand scheme of things. and i feel lucky to have made what i've made so far. i feel lucky despite how unlucky i am, if that makes any sense at all. i'm glad i had a chance to be here even if i fucked almost everything up.

I think no one deserves to be tortured in this existence, no matter how privileged they are. Even the richest, prettiest, luckiest person in the entire world can still feel pain from hunger and physical assault. The pleasures of being alive are short-lived and the suffering is persistent.

I oscillate back and forth with this question, right now I lean heavily towards wishing I never was born. Although I had some good moments, in the end I have lived a worthless life with no story.

That's the problem with unplanned pregnancies- the poor child gets born into a bad situation.
Just like me. If I'd had a Mother and father, they'd have looked out for me and I wouldn't be in this position. I'd probably be a psychologist helping people with their troubles by now.
Instead I had a sick (but loving) Mother and a rich, absent, selfish Father.

I wish I was never born. My parents had me at the age of 21, and I'm currently 21. They never actually planned to have me, so it's just stupid how they didn't use protection at all. I hate how irresponsible that decision was, and now they won't even understand or accept that I want to die now. I'm grateful that they took care of me though, but they were too young imo.

I wish I was never born. My existence is just one big mistake. I have never wanted to be alive and I am not meant for this world. Life is suffering, there is no limit as to how horrible things can get. Never being born means to never suffer. All of our problems are caused by the fact that we exist in the first place. We were all perfectly fine not existing until we were forced to live. More than anything I wish I was never born, but it is all too late. It is sad how I had to exist in the first place. All I want is to return to non existence.

Definitely wish I was never born. There were good and okay times until symptoms of the brain going kaput struck in the mid-late 20s. It's been a decade of mostly hell now... I wonder if I ever really was happy at all. Isn't it this same sick mind that perceived life as okay even before?

Absolutely! It was a cosmic mistake for me to end up here. I have been suicidal since past 12+ years and have already attempted it more than 4 times during these years. I have had to realise it again and again that no matter what I do, I would end up in the same shit hole of suicidal depression again and again all alone. Can't even recall how many times I have literally entertained the fantasy of going back in time and prevent myself from taking birth.

I don't. Even though I'm at the bottom of society and live a hopeless, meaningless, joyless, loveless life it's more LIKE I bought a lottery ticket (albeit a losing one) or entered into a high stakes game of something (and lost) instead of the passive feeling a lot of people on here use such as "being born". Actually a better analogy would be I took on the challenge of an extremely difficult (and soon to be unendurable) life with a gigantic prospective payout / reward if I were to succeed, sure I failed (and failed at life thoroughly) but had I succeeded in my endeavours it would have been far more impressive (and rewarding) than all the lives of typical smug rich pricks who come from wealth or are connected or whatever and then grow up to be...wealthy or powerful or whatever. There's a reason we all like underdog / rags-to-riches stories and it's because they're the most satisfying.

Hm. Eventhough I didn't enjoy the ride and didn't find a lot of meaning in it, I always come back to the conclusion that I don't really regret having this experience. I mean, I did it, right? I made it through. Maybe something is better then nothing at some point. Maybe it was worth a shot. Probably lots of nothingness still ahead of me.
