When I was a teen I really looked up to my parents and valued their opinion so much but then I began to understand that they are just human themselves. This made me feel so diorented in life and I still feel like that tbh. So if I imagine that happening again times 1000 that'd be really damaging

Well, that is a very interesting scenario to ponder, actually. The answer is - I don't know. That would actually be a significant upgrade from my actual family situation, and would probably also mean that I'd have to be born in a better country for it, because in my country we don't do foster families, we still have creepy, depressing overcrowded orphanages. I am not sure how a different upbringing would affect the person I am now and whether it would change enough to make me not want to CTB.
