I think every human being is at least a bit insane but us, (according to society) are the most insane people ever.

hm its just a label

As psychiatry became more professionally established during the nineteenth century (the term itself was coined in 1808 in Germany, as "Psychiatriein") and developed allegedly more invasive treatments, opposition increased.[18] In the Southern US, black slaves and abolitionists encountered Drapetomania, a pseudo-scientific diagnosis for why slaves ran away from their masters.

No.
I consider so-called advanced modern societies to be insane though.
----Born
----indoctrinated in school
----forced to work a meaningless job so corporations, states and banks can profit through taxes and other fiscal measures
----consume ephemeral products, gadgets and services which serves two main functions 1) be kept a docile and willing participant of the social order and 2) to create more wealth/profit for the big companies and multinationals which cut their production costs by exploiting the labor of poor people/children in poor countries through outsourcing and sweatshops
----vote in sham elections which never offer meaningful change
----notice how the media works to create social and political consensus so that the field of acceptable discourse and dissent operates within a narrow margin, so the interests of big banks and global fiscal organizations can be furthered
----witness civil liberties and freedoms being curtailed because of 'terrorism' and 'viruses'
----get informed about how millions of suffering animals are treated and killed in factory farms/slaughterhouses every year
----get constantly told how much of a 'gift' life is, how 'precious' it is, how suicide is some kind of evil act etc, which creates cognitive dissonance in light of all the former observations
----then you die, an insignificant event from the point of view of the wider society, since you will just be replaced by another cog which will generate a finite amount of surplus monetary value during its lifetime then will die in its turn

What an utterly insane system.

In the Southern US, black slaves and abolitionists encountered Drapetomania, a pseudo-scientific diagnosis for why slaves ran away from their masters.
That goes to show the type of institution psychiatry is. It works in the service of the economy and business interests to medicalize and pathologize individuals so that they can be 'treated' and controlled/punished. Diagnosing escaped slaves as drapetomaniac is only different in degree from diagnosing people today as schizophrenic or majorly depressed or whatever -- it's the same fundamental move. All these 'psychiatric conditions' are in fact rational reactions to insane or extreme circumstances which arise in the modern society.
Sorry for being rude.

I consider myself to be certifiable. Basically, I'm a label society puts on me for having different ideas and beliefs. Insanity is different imo, it's a chaos in the brain with no purpose, jumbled thoughts the mind can't process. I have purpose, I have logical thoughts (even if others see them as unorthodox). If everyone with different views was considered insane and locked away, we would have never progressed as a society.

Well, the point of living is to feel as happy as possible. If you can't feel happy anymore, who's to say you're crazy for killing yourself?

How do you define insanity. It is more a legal term than a medical one...

I'd say I'm pretty fucked, considering I took the time to find a pro-choice suicide forum and spend a fair amount of time on it obsessing over various suicide methods.

Are you bat shit crazy?
I see things, hear things and idk. Most of them aren't that bad. It's just like seeing a cup on the table but isn't really there. I just live with it and now I even socialize with the things that only I see or hear. I dont think I'm crazy but I know that other people will, so when I go outside I always bring my earphones, that don't work, so people think I'm talking to somebody.
Being crazy for me is when u dont respect other cause of their choices or because the way that x person was born. Like when someone doesn't respect me cause I'm not straight, like wtf is wrong with u, why do u care about my sex life so much??

Idk but that's crazy for me.

No I'm not insane, I'm unfortunately very much in control of my mental faculties.

The problem is that my brain is a fucking train wreck of trauma and mental illness, so I'd just be better off dead.

I'm ill, not insane. The fact that I'm aware of my situation and that it's wrong is the problem, and in a legal sense that's the definition of sane.

I don't think that is the correct terminology to use.
I know I'm mentally unwell, but I wouldn't go as far as to call myself insane.
