Yes don't do that, it's someone's home. That would be really disrespectful. Best to use a motel, home, car, outdoors.

ok, yes i agree. it would just be nice to go somewhere comfy. the motels have creepy vibes and there's not much in terms of truly secluded nature and i don't live alone so home isn't an option either. ugh

I'm thinking somewhere in my car would be good it's just really hard finding a spot i wouldn't be found for 24hrs

Doing so may potentially reduce the owner's property value. That would be a selfish move.

good point. i wasn't planning to go in an air bnb just thought of it after extensively looking up nearby hotels/motels. did a little research and found some nice places but obviously had some second thoughts so thought i'd ask advice here. if anyone has a good idea of where to park a car for ctb and not be found for a while let me know please!!!

i was thinking of CTB by jumping from an airbnb in an apartment building on a really high floor with balcony. I'd be CTB'ing outside the place so I don't think this would be so bad. I'm was also thinking of booking for 3-4 days in order to not interrupt their business

In short answer, yes it would be. If there is a better place to ctb, like a hotel, motel, home, car, or just some secluded place outdoors, then that should be chosen over an Airbnb.

Don't do it in a bnb, man.

Come on now. If your suicide negatively affects the lives of people who don't know you, change how you CTB.

I completely agree with this. I wasn't (and am not) planning to go in an air bnb just thought of it as a possibility after extensively looking up nearby hotels/motels. like i said in the post i'd feel bad. but by your logic then a hotel would be bad too? i understand the ways an air bnb would be worse. but i mean most likely with all suicides someone will find your body - is that considered negatively effecting the lives of people who don't know you? ideally there'd be a nice forrest where i could just enrich the soil and let the animals eat me but i haven't had a lot of luck looking.

Oh yeah, I'd prefer a forrest too actually :)

Don't do it at an AirBNB or a hotel or motel. People still not realizing that someone is going to find you. No reason for it to be some innocent bystander. Do it in your own home and have friends and family find you.

"It's messed up to do it in someones home but it's perfectly okay to do it in a hotel room where the cleaning women who is trying to feed her kids will find you".

Yes, but I also think doing it in a motel is pretty unfair, despite everyone recommending it. I know eventually someone will find you no matter what you do, but letting some underpaid motel cleaner/receptionist seems messed up too

I was actually considering the same thing after gotten home from Lima. But the hosts I looked up seemed all so nice and kind. So I convinced myself not to burden another stranger with my dead body.
Imagine the horror they go through the moment they find you.

Dick move. Even in a motel or hotel.

Lil story: my dad works at a motel and recently found a dude who decided to ctb by hanging himself. Said he was a polite, good looking fellow with a sweet kid. The last thing he did was buy a bunch of snacks for his son. Front desk folks noticed that the mom came and took the kid. Next morning he didn't check out, so my dad opened his door and discovered him hanging. The police came and everything.

Really traumatized him especially since it was only two weeks after my attempt and my dad had recently lost his brother. But my dad is a really positive optimist type so he bottles it up and hides it well.

There's def signs from the universe that tell me not to ctb. Family is really the only thing that is keeping me around this long. I'm miserable but I don't want to make it harder on them.

Then again, I don't think there will ever be a time where it won't be hard on them. I would just rather be in my car or far away and found by some cop/medic who has dealt with corpses.

Ok so obviously so now everyones saying hotel/motel is morally no good as well..it's still an option i have up for consideration but am not sure.
home doesn't work bc i don't live alone
Idk i want to make sure i have enough time to die before i'm found??
now i'm thinking maybe BLM land in my car? would I be likely not to be found by any rangers?
i really need help with this.

You can do it in the hotel bathroom and leave a clear notice on the door saying do not enter and call the authorities.

Death is part of life, even death by suicide.

that's a good thought. I'm not 100% sure it would work but if ctb in a hotel i think that's the way to do it

Yes, of course, but how is this any different from doing the same thing in an Air BNB

Because an AirBNB is often a person's actual home that they live in when not renting it out. Also, a suicide occuring in a home lowers the property value

As a ghost the best use of my time is slightly haunting people to the point it's hard to tell if it's just the house or not.

Realistically unless you go to a remote desert island someone will probably find you.

So the next best option is in the woods.
Then if you can't do that a hotel is best.

The reason why we arent criticizing a hotel as much as a Airbnb is because hotels are actually trained and go through stuff like this. A Airbnb owner will be traumatized and his home value will go down. Hotels don't take near the hit a Airbnb does.

Now another thing to y'all criticizing op. If you get depressed enough and are Suffering enough you would blow your head off on the playground infront of kindergartners if the opportunity presented itself. People actually have done that because they have such severe depression and mental issues. That's how bad it can get. I'm not saying op is that bad off but he might be.

That's another reason why suicide should be legal. Authorized professionals should go to your home or put you in a comfortable room and assist with your suicide in a humane way and dispose of your body properly. That way no one gets traumatized and loses property value.

I've struggled with this too because I hate hotels; however the general consensus is that Airbnb could be a persons home—or at the very least they have a personal investment in the property.

So I have since ruled out
Airbnb completely.
