  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I'm afraid of flinching, but I want to create a way to ensure this doesn't happen. I want to rig a shotgun to fire at a random interval after 15 seconds. Say any value between 15-45 seconds. I would wear loud headphones to avoid hearing the actuation and flinching. I've never programmed before except for an entry level Java and python class.

this is an interesting method. i don't know how difficult it would be to actually accomplish, but i've worked with arduino boards in my engineering classes.

The harder part is making the actuating mechanism. In this case perhaps some sort of motor that pulls a string to the trigger.

Wow sounds awesome. Bit why not a guillotine then?

If it fails there is always suicide by cops. But I trust machines over those dumb asses. I wish we had terminators.

if i were to go to all this trouble, i would set up a redundant (maybe three angle) system, to eliminate chance of failure due to trajectory/movement. you will feel the kickback/force from that negligible distance just as much as the sound, besides it takes nanoseconds for sound to happen and register in the brain, by that time, well, yknow. i probably wouldnt worry abt headphones.

As a programmer myself, even an absolute beginner could do it in a few hours, the hardest part would be to make sure the shotgun won't move when the trigger is being pulled.

I don't think there would be time to react to forces created by the blast. Hearing the beginning of the actuation is the only variable that would be humanly reactable by my calculations. Speed of sound vs speed of shotgun pellets+human reaction to stimuli etc
