I know money isn't the solution to every problem but I feel I would become 90% less suicidal if I had a decent some of money in my account. Being on social welfare sucks (even though the rate in European countries is much better than in America).

I do not think so.

Case in point, when my "parents" died they left my younger sister cash and a hobby farm, my older brother got around 8 million (USD) and I got ZERO. Guess what? everything that I have heard since, both of them, they will not speak to me, they both are extremely greedy, complain about everything and the like.

Also, in my 70 plus years on this planet, beside the 2 mentioned above, I have run into so many that are so unhappy and they do not have a care in the world as far as economics goes, and they are always grabbing for more and nothing is ever right.

Now, do not get me wrong, everyone needs money to survive, however for it to be the main goal, from what I have seen and experienced, money to live and put some away for future. BUT include a beautiful sun rise and sunset also.

I was told that my "mom" on her death bed, neither "parent" wanted to see me after 03.13.1974 and also it was in their wills for me to NOT attend either their wake or funerals, but one of my siblings told a person who relayed it to me this: "I have one regret and that is that we as a family never took even one family vacation when my 2 kids, I was never included, were growing up".

So, money is necessary be darn sure that it is NOT the only goal no matter what.

I have no one to leave anything to that I care about, as such it will go into a scholarship program to help others live a wonderful life.

Walter

Definitely. If money was no issue then I wouldn't have to live with my parents or depend on them in any way. I would be able to meet my paternal biological family. It would be a lot easier to accept the truth of being from an affair. The gaslighting from my parents is the worst part. So I also feel like 90% of my problems would be solved if I had a good amount of money. I could afford to ghost my parents, and not have to worry about finding a way to survive without them.

I failed in life, and that led to financial issues.

A lack of money is the main reason why I became suicidal.
In my case, money is the solution to the problem itself.

I have money but still no interest in life.It doesn't solve my problem, but let me be honest. Things would be far, far worse without money. That's just the truth.

Yes. If I had enough for a private apartment and an animal companion I would become much, much less suicidal near instantly.

As it is I'm being rejected from even the most menial of grunt work because I can't feign "marketability" or whatever it is they want from me.

I'm so angry all the time.

rats make good pets and they are relatively cheap,
you can feed them vegetable scraps,
they love potato peels

It would be nice but entropy ends all of us. I just would just that money to disappear in a much more easy state

Can't. Current lease forbids all animals :(

Pet friendly housing costs 100-300$ extra a month in my area. I love rats though they're wonderful.

I'm a literal millionaire and I'm suicidal. There are some things money can never buy, like friendship, sanity, or good relationships with family.

Money wouldn't fix everything, but having independence and control over my own life would definitely solve most of my problems.

MONEY IS OVERRATED SHIT
i had money and it never helped me. when you have money and horrible depression it's literally meaningless to you. i kept spending it on literal trash, thinking "maybe if i have a money i can live after all", WISHING FOR A DEATH EVERY SINGLE DAY. this shit just held me in this world longer than i needed to be, i'm so happy i finally spent all this useless money and never got a job, so i can finally leave after wishing for it for over ten years

For me, yes, because my biggest problem is money—money gives me freedom.
Plus, my family has been in quite a bit of debt lately.

Without a doubt, yes.

There's something that you can't buy with money, but a lot can be bought with it.

Money would solve a lot of my current issues, yes. Not everything but it would be nice to be debt free and not have to wonder whether I'll have a roof over my head 6 months from now.

My suicidal thoughts revolve mostly around being useless and a burden to others...which is fairly closely related to money. Money doesn't alleviate the depression and suicidal thoughts. It makes it less acute. But I will continue to worry about my situation changing to where I become a burden.

I would like to think the answer is "yes"...but my history strongly suggests otherwise. Assets, investments, and real estate and I still feel utterly broke. I feel like I have no independence or freedom (mars2027); and I can't walk away because I have responsibilities to look after my wife and daughter. I know they would say I don't have those responsibilities and that we do not have to live our current lifestyle, but I am stuck in a cycle where I measure my worth as a "man" based on what I can provide my wife and daughter.

But I wouldn't mind at least testing my theory out with a few million windfall :smiling: (tax free of course).
