I am wary of trying to by a gun due to not being 100% sure if I am legally allowed. I don't want to risk filling out the ATF form wrong and getting in legal trouble

A crossbow seems like a possibility. Would one of these crossbows using an arrow with a razor/broadhead tip pointed directly at my heart kill me? I'm not so afraid of pain if I could know that my heart was destroyed and death would come soon. I could also point one behind my ear after shooting my chest, but I'm not sure if it'd have the force to pierce through my skull

Please let me know if this is a viable method

I'm no expert on this but the odds of you having the angle and the accuracy just right are highly unlikely. It sounds like a terribly way to permanently injure yourself and end up in a situation that's worse than where you are now.

seems like it would be kind of hard to miss my heart? middle of chest, slightly to the left of my sternum? I might be able to fire multiple arrows into that general area, also maybe one into my abdominal aorta

I've underlined two words from your response, "might" and "maybe". If you're looking for a sure thing, then you may want to reevaluate. Again, I'm no expert but the odds of success are low and it would be tragic to get seriously injured and end up in a place or situation that's worse then the one you're in now.

Of course it will kill you. I'm assuming it's a broad tip arrow. They're designed to deal maximun damage to tissues. ⚠️ But I don't think many people here will actually encourage you to do so. Just because a method is lethal, doesn't mean its success is guaranteed. I once thought about using a spearfishing gun to ctb but once I'm in a clearer sense of mind, I realized that was a terrible idea. The bow, draw weight, angle, survival instincts and many other factors, for me is too much to deal with. Too risky in short.

I'm... not sure. I've seen many crossbow attempts that have failed, but they all appeared to be using regular arrow tips, that resulted in the bolt sticking into them. Because the true goal would be for it to pass through, so one could bleed out.

If you're worried about not being legally allowed to own a firearm in the US, then skip to 5:19 in this video and watch from there.

I was thinking I could tie a string around the trigger, or maybe pull it with my toe? maybe there'd be a way to mount the crossbow on some sort of frame, to keep it steady.

I know they make pistol-type crossbows which are shorter and seem like it'd be easier to aim at yourself, here is an example, though I'm not sure how they'd compare in terms of power with a regular crossbow

This is a fail in the making.
People have problems shooting themselves with a gun. This sounds very improbable to succeed. I do not doubt it will fire. I would not put money down on what it will hit.

I think the possibility of surviving with severe complications makes the attempt too risky imo. It feels about as lethal as jumping from a not so optimal height to a not so optimal ground material or like shooting a low caliber bullet in your brain and missing the brain stem.
