Nice poll :-) Of course, things falling into the category "other" for me: Realizing that I can fly, and wondering why I'd never noticed this before, duh! Mostly it's just being able to hover above the ground and move around in this way.

Is that a nightmare though? Sounds like a rather pleasant dream to me tbh. I did have a nighmare where I started randomly floating towards the roof at some family gathering of sorts and couldn't get down no matter how hard I tried. That was uncanny, ngl...

Some of my common nightmares aren't included on here:
Turning the faucet off, but no matter what I do the water won't stop running.
Trying to scream, but nothing comes out.
Unable to move/unable to move a body part. Just last night I had a dream where I raised my arm and couldn't put it back down.
Feeling actual pain in my dreams. Usually because I'm experiencing slight pain irl, but the pain is horrible in my dreams.
My dreams relate to control I've noticed. Probably because there are so many factors out of my control in my life that haunt me. Specifically not having the freedom to ctb.I always got that I was back in school and failing one class and if have to do it all over again, another semester

I've had dreams of killing someone and of being killed, but I didn't check those boxes because for me, they weren't nightmares.

When I was younger, I had a scary parent so all of my dreams where of big monsters, running but not being able to get away (that "running in water" feeling), and getting abandoned. Also natural disasters and hiding from someone who is after me. All of these are hallmarks of high anxiety and feelings of helplessness (thanks, dad!).
Now that I am older, I have dreams about mass murders (terrorist attacks, major accidents), falling (in planes for some reason), and people being mad at or screaming at me for no reason. Obviously my sources of anxiety have changed.
I have had a few dreams of my teeth falling out but my teeth are jank so that is not a surprise.
I am the type of nerd that likes answering polls.

Out of these I have only had people abandoning and leaving me or people shouting at me. Most of the abandonment related nightmares I had are related to partners and friends leaving me while and most nightmares revolving around people shouting at me are school ones. I have had dreams where I killed others as well but I liked them in being able to do those things without feeling any guilt as they weren't real.

Another commen one I have is that I'm a a clear box that is getting smaller. I can see people on the outside but yet no amount of screaming or shouting ever get anyone's attention. In the end the boxes closes in on me with the feeling of be crushed, every thing goes dark then I wake up breathing heavily and sweating.

You are right, I got stuck on the recurring part...
Another recurring nightmare is being somewhere and then realizing I'm naked in a situation in which I shouldn't be. There seems to be an awareness that I've "done that before" in another dream. I remember deciding not to go outside naked again but then can't remember why I did it again. These dreams have been occuring to me for a long time already, but don't happen too often luckily.
I used to have neightmarish dreams about my old work but they became softer and occur less often now.
I also have recurring technical nightmares. In those dreams, I try to get somewhere but I seem unable to enter the target location into the navigation app on my phone. The dream then revolves aroud me trying to enter the target location in various attempts, and I feel panic.
