In my note, I'm going to say not to undress my body. And also that I don't want a funeral. Will they undress my dead body and host a funeral anyway?

I wouldn't worry about what the living choose to do. They may respect your wishes or not it all depends

I was under the impression all ctb's require autopsies so there is going to be a lot more than that done.

Yes, they will and depending on where you live they'll probably do an autopsy.

I often ask myself this question too. Especially if autopsies can be avoided, if i would make very clear, that my death is a suicide. Perhaps by writing a letter for the police.

Don't know for sure. But my boyfriend ctb'd years ago with N and they asked his parents if it was alright they did an autopsy. His parents gave their permission, so they did.

Maybe it's different in other countries, but I think they ask your legal representatives (parents/partner).

It's nembutal, it's not SN. You can read about it in the PPEH in the resources section of this site. We also have multiple threads about it but I'm not sure if newbies can use the search function.

If you want to effect things in this world you have to stay alive. When you are dead you give everything away, you don´t exist anymore. Thought there are little things you can arrange. I will hang myself in a deserted forest and will take care that I will not be found soon. So what will be found will not look like me.

I think that if ctb is suspected, an autopsy is required. Though I think it varies between regions.

But for the funeral, I would hope your wishes would be respected. It would be pretty vile if they're not.

Yes an autopsy, a police investigation and a coroner's inquest are required in many countries. The autopsy will provide a sample for lab analysis to determine what you ingested which is standard process however you died if the death is suspected to be at your own hands or possibly someone elses.

A funeral director will also ask your family if your body should be embalmed (which is invasive) especially as it takes time for the body to be released and therefore it will have decayed before the funeral.

Yes, I think in most places it's required even if there is a note. Makes me mad that I can't even die in peace without people respecting messing with me

That's why I'm going to ctb somewhere they won't ever find me.

I thought the family has to give permission / request one. I was under the impression that autopsies are expensive and only done in forensic cases where foul play is suspected or explicitly requested by family. May be different by country?

Yes, and depending on if you have any family they will probably host a funeral. Even if you end up in ICU they will probably cut your clothes off, redress you, and stick a catheter in you :)))) that was my experience. I am normally extremely body shy but I was unconscious so unable to be ebarrassed and apart from the fact the catheter was uncomfortable when i woke up i honestly dont care that much... lost some nice undies to the scissors though :(((
if i was actually dead then i certainly wouldnt care! Nurses and morticians see that stuff every day anyways they arent thinking about what you look like its just another day at work

Probably it's different in various countries. Here, an autopsy is obligatory in all cases of sudden and unexpected deaths, including ctb, especially in young people. However I come to terms with it.

I hate this. I know by that point I won't be using my body anymore but it's just another violation of my body when I've had to experience that so many times already. It makes me feel sick.
