  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

For example, if you request to not have a funeral, will that demand be granted?

What about if you ask to be buried in an unmarked grave, and for nobody to ever bring flowers to your grave?

I imagine it depends on the disposition of whoever is in a position to carry out your demands.

unless it's in a legal will it will depend on the people around whether they want to respect your wishes. unfortunately if your family wants a funeral or a grave then nothing is stopping them from doing so

You can prepay for a cremation only these days- imagine you could also prepay for a burial with no headstone. Otherwise, if you leqve a note, I guess it will be up to your family whether they honour your wishes.

If they didn't listen while I was alive, why would I expect then to listen when I am dead?

Unless you write a legally recognized will to that effect, they'll do whatever they wish with your body

Unfortunately, it's really out of our hands once we go. I got into a row with my mom last week about it. I'm careful not to tell her my plans, but I did say if anything happens, I just want to be cremated. I even suggested pre-paying for everything to take the burden off of family making the decisions post CTB. She then began to lecture me on the need for the survivors - part of the grieving process. So, it's really hard to say what will happen. Tbh, I don't care. I'll be dead.

Legally they don't have to.
You have to put it in a will.
I don't know where you're from but every place has different rules for wills. Many allow hand written wills

I think simple wills can be drafted online for around $150. I just paid $200 to have my simple will drafted by a local attorney. No big deal. I had a list of items I compiled on a piece of paper that I wanted included in my will regarding cremation (all prepaid), funeral (none - no visitation, no showing), flowers (out of my assets - none), made it clear that no distant cousins (that's only relatives I have remaining) are to get anything from my estate, that anything left in my estate after expenses goes to a specified charity, that the court appoint a professional executor (no cousins) to handle my affairs, etc, etc, etc. I think it was like 17 things or something total. I paid just over $1000 for the no-frills prepaid cremation. That's the best way to go.
