I know it is a stupid question, but here it is. I live in Germany and found a very good spot to decapitate myself via train. To access the tracks, you need to go from a road up and then go between two walls (photo below) - and I must say, almost no one goes along the road, it is not far from people, but very quiet and desolate.

I want to record a video of the train (to get used to it, to understand its speed etc.), but I am scared that if the driver sees me between two walls, he will immediately stop the train. It is silly, probably, because the train is a high-speed one and the driver won't waste passengers' time. I won't go near tracks, just will stay a bit behind the walls and record.

Question: do trains in Germany have a tendency to stop in such cases and call police/anyone? Do German trains have cameras that can be used to track my face? I am more than sure that the area near the tracks doesn't have any cameras.

Thank you for the answers in advance.

I don't know any specifics for Germany (like cameras and all) but, in general, it would depend on some factors. Whether or not the conductor sees you, if they do they would naturally stop the train. Then again, depending on the speed of the train and the number of cars, the stopping distance might be different so some math is involved. I also know that some (if not all) modern trains are equipped to detect foreign objects on the tracks (including pedestrians) but I'd be lying if I said I knew how it worked exactly.

If you're just taking a video however, I don't think they'd mind much.

Also, I agree with the previous commenter, you should take down those pictures for your privacy and safety

If the driver sees you, s/he's likely to report that someone is trespassing near the tracks. You can get away in time and in Germany there's a cultural aversion to CCTV cameras so you won't be identified and tracked down, but a warning could go out to other drivers about that particular spot. I don't know what the consequence of that would be. Leave a good interval of time before you go back.

It's not my place to say this, but it's worth considering another method because of these concerns and also trauma for the driver when you ctb etc. I'm sure you've considered this already, so make your own decision.

Well, I think the train will go 100 km/h in this area of tracks, maybe even more (I am not sure though), so I doubt the conductor or the driver will have time to react to me standing between two walls. Again, I won't jump (yet) - I will just record it.
