I've seen both sides. "Sodium Nitrate will turn your blood brown" And "Sodium Nitrate won't turn your blood brown". It would be helpful to find supporting information with the actual answer. Thanks.

Sodium Nitrate does make it brown but its not effective like nitrite for ctb. Also the methods for making nitrite from nitrate are a bit too complicated unless you have some good lab equipment.

is there anyway possible to tell if sodium nitrite is nitrite without using the blood test? I tested mine but it turned brown. I have no way to tell if its nitrite other than the label on the bottle.
