My parents bought me a puppy 3 months ago and they keep trying to guilt trip me by saying how much he loves me and that he couldn't live without me. I care about him a lot obviously but there's absolutely no way I can continue living, I've been seriously harmed by an antibiotic which has given me peripheral neuropathy and burning pain in my hands and feet all the time, with zero help from doctors, I've also been abused by my family for my whole life.

I feel like this innocent puppy has been brought into this miserable family despite me telling my parents not to do it. Is he going to be ok without me, or if my parents re-home him? I know dogs are very loyal and he's a Maltese so he's very attached. I feel terrible but I won't be guilt tripped by my parents. My dad is going to spend £50,000 on a new car and refused to take me abroad for better medical care. I feel terrible for the puppy.

The dog will be OK especially if your parents have the financial means

Your puppy will most likely be okay after you CTB. If you want to be 100% sure he will, I'd suggest giving him to an animal shelter or anything along the lines of that. Either way, once you've CTBed, nothing will truly matter.

Same situation with you too, but with a dog that's been with me for 7 years. Honestly it should be fine since your puppy is still quite young. Best bet honestly is to give it to a friend you can trust and make up an excuse when you CTB saying "we're going on a family vacation" or something along those lines. Shelter isn't that bad, but the problem is when the puppy going to be finally adopted.

I would recommend giving your puppy to a friend/family member or taking to a shelter especially if it is very young

As a former shelter volunteer, puppies get adopted really fast, especially if they're not pit bulls (there are a lot of those, we have a hard time finding homes for them.) Maltese especially are a very popular breed because of their cuteness, which means that no matter what you choose to do, it's very likely your puppy will have a happy life.
