Discussion Why must SN be so pure?

If the goal is to get 25g of SN, why couldn't you just take twice as much of half the purity?

I'm guessing two things.

1)It's just going to make the puking way worse (since you now need to drink twice as much)
2) 50% pure SN implies 50% other impurities. Said impurities could interact with the process in a negative way.

Can it work the way you said it? Maybe. Though should you go with a "maybe?" plan? I would not personally.

Because it's not an OD, it's a poison, and if it isn't pure enough, no amount will be lethal. Please forgive the following analogy… let's say a woman wants to become a mother… but her partner is sterile… if she finds a second partner who is also sterile… would that increase her chances of becoming a mother? Of course not! Double of something that has no ability to create life or end life will not make it viable. It's just doubling something that is useless.

No, you're both fundamentally misunderstanding the issue. It has nothing to do with other impurities. Doubling something that's not lethal cannot magically make it lethal.

I don't think that analogy maps on. It would be more like a woman whose husband whose semen only contains have the amount of regular sperm.

I disagree that doubling something cannot make it lethal. What if 10 g of sn is a sub lethal dose. Doubling it from 10g to 20g makes it lethal.

Your argument would apply to a 0% pure preparation of sn but not a 50% pure preparation.

Ugh, it's science, not magic. Doubling or tripling or quadrupling 50% SN is just a bigger dose of useless SN.

Because the only SN you're going to find is either 90%+ (used in labs, businesses, etc.) or 5%-10% (the latter largely only being used for curing food). You're not going to find 50% SN.
