I think it depends on your anatomy. Some people pass out super easy with any compression on the arteries, for others it's almost impossible.

The carotid arteries (which carry blood to the brain) are often a lot harder to block than other vessels.

I understand your pain of not getting partial to work. 5 attempts to far and never lost consciousness.
My partial attempt two days ago, resulted in me spitting up a little bit of blood afterwards. No damage to the outside of my neck, much less pain compared to my previous attempts. I have no idea how I didn't restrict my blood flow enough to pass out, despite probably bleeding on the inside of my throat. Feeling kinda desperate, afraid I'll jump in front of a train or something, which I know is bad because it involves other people.
Partial is hard, for me at least, still trying it though.Similar threads
